The Burden of Beauty
gplusr9 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Another good episode as one-quarter of the last season is gone (feels bad to say that). We learned more about what happened with Rebecca and Hood during the time jump we experienced on the show, as we still look forward to have any conclusive hint when it comes to who is the serial killer.

Proctor moves into business with more dangerous people, the cartel is never really a good idea for any character on any show. It wasn't for Walter White, wasn't for Boyd Crowder and it wasn't for Jax Teller. In Proctor's case, not only does he have to worry with this new alliance with the Colombian cartel, but he has a target on his back when it comes to Nazis as well, Calvin Bunker seems determined to take over Proctor's business one way or the other, still having to deal with his brother Kurt.

Overall, the action scenes were good, I took a point away for the time been too dedicated to only introduce and then torture any character that had some screen time in those 40+ minutes, including a much anticipated and welcome return.

Like something out of Texas Chainsaw

Lots of really good TV these days and it is hard to pick the best show.

OK, I lied. Not that hard. Banshee.

In prior reviews of individual episodes, I pointed out that the two guys behind this show do not merely "break the mold" they break it before anyone else in the industry even gets a chance to use it.

And they are still at it. Doing things with cinematography, music, flashbacks, pretty ladies, and violence that no one else dares.

The opening scene in this episode was one of the most shocking ever aired on mainstream TV.

The scene in the backwoods makes Texas Chainsaw Massacre looking like an ad for a fast food outlet.

The current game in Hollywood is to see who can mesmerize and bedazzle the viewer more than any other show. Banshee has the "burden of setting the bar" for this much like the character in this episode had the burden of beauty.

And no else comes close.

Mediocre at best

Season 1 was the best by far. I don't really get the high reviews on season 3 and 4.

The show has become very bland and meh.

The characters barely have a story or a motivation.

Hood is almost Superman and thorw in a shady black ops past to make up for all his skills.

Ana has a identity crisis from the start of the show. Besides "family" like this is a F&F movies, she has no motivation or interesting take. You can replace her with anybody else.

Sugar is the only decent character, but again, too straightforward and simple.

Rebecca is a love/hate relationship.

Proctor went from the most interesting character to the most obnoxious and cringe middle aged man who kills anyone who has sex with his niece like a twisted form of jelousy.

60% of the scenes are random af.

The worst part is the sound and how bad it's balanced. I constatly need to adjust the volume between can't hearing a thing they say too holy fk it's so loud.
