The gang is back.

Kudos all around. Everyone great.

I didn't like Harry's new hair color even though he is growing older. I like his old dark hair.

Dolly Sisters were born Hungarian (1892 Austro-Hungarian Empire) in real life, but a reviewer elsewhere said they were American vaudevillians. They had come to America at age 13. At any rate, in this show they sounded totally American with no trace of a European accent. They also had black hair in real life. With all the pre-hype, I thought they'd have a larger part in this episode, but it looked like plenty of other characters had to have their stories told, also.

The Dollys looked darling in their red and white outfits and hats, but I felt that their chartreuse green outfits along with their frizzy, sleazy blonde hair were totally trashy. Spoilers: We are being set up for Harry Selfridge's eventual ruination by these scandalous double-the-pleasure / double-the-fun troublesome flappers.

Great to see Lady Mae. Hope we don't have to see her scoundrel of an ex-husband. The actress was out having a baby since we saw her last.

I thought that the African-English young seamstress might be the object of violence by the white female employees, since she is not only talented but a favorite of Lady Mae.

Too bad about Harry's mother. Wonder what record was playing on the phonograph.

Love the Mary Jane-style women's shoes. Same time period as Downton Abbey, no? These are my new must-haves. My grandmother wore some of these in an old photograph, but hers were not like the beautiful red pumps worn by the Dolly Sisters in this Mr. Selfridge episode.

Clothes and shoes: everything old is new again, lol.

Still going downhill!!!

I have been watching Mr. Selfridge from the beginning. Love the time period and British setting, but the show just keeps getting worse and worse. One glaring problem is that there are NO likable major characters that compel the viewer to watch this. And now that Mr.Selfridge himself is on a downward spiral, he's not even likable. The viewer isn't even rooting much for him to get a grip. He fell and had an accident and the producers could have and should have ended the show there. Really sad to see a good show just nosedive. At least Downton Abbey stayed the course and remained good till the very end. And that show had plenty of likable characters...every last one of them. How hard can it be to stick to the formula whereby you always include likable characters???

Warning: Spoilers
I HATE when seasons start and everything has been skipped ahead and things are different. Sooo nothing exciting or important happened in the ten years that we need to see? Ugh rushed explanations, actresses or actors missing with crap reasons why they are gone or old ones pop back in when we already thought them long gone. Boring sub plots rammed down our throats.. Btw red hair is a genetic mutation and VERY rarely genetically passed down. There's zero reason mr groves kids would all be red heads.
