With a relentless delivery of some of the most head-turning lines in cinema, R. Lee Ermey had a commanding, unparalleled screen presence in films and television, and we're sad to share the news of the iconic actor's passing at the age of 74.
The news of R. Lee Ermey's passing was shared on Twitter by his manager, Bill Rogin, who posted:
"It is with deep sadness that I regret to inform you all that R. Lee Ermey ("The Gunny") passed away this morning from complications of pneumonia. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Semper Fi, Gunny. Godspeed."
A Us Marine, Vietnam veteran, and drill instructor in real life, Ermey brought that same military intensity, determination, and passion to the big screen in 1987 for his standout role as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket.

Jinga Films and New Normal Productions have announced completion of principal photography on Julian Richards’ supernatural thriller Reborn, which stars Barbara Crampton (Beyond The Gates), Michael Pare (The Lincoln Lawyer), Chaz Bono (American Horror Story) and newcomer Kayleigh Gilbert. Rae Dawn Chong (Commando) and Monte Markham (The Rift) round up the cast.
In Reborn, a stillborn baby girl is abducted by a morgue attendant and brought back to life by electrokinetic power. On her sixteenth birthday she escapes captivity and sets out to find her birth mother leaving a trail of destruction behind her.
Filmed on location in Los Angeles, Reborn is written by Michael Mahin, from a story by Jeannie McGinnis who also produced through her company New Normal Productions. John Penney (Return Of The Living Dead III) serves as Executive Producer. Says McGinnis:

Cleopatra Entertainment will release The Rift: Dark Side Of The Moon, a new horror/thriller about a team of Us and Serbian agents dispatched to an American military satellite crash site where all is not as it seems on November 28. The film is directed by Dejan Zecevic and stars Ken Foree, Katarina Cas, Monte Markham and Dragan Micanovic.

Genre sales specialist Jinga has sold sci-fi thriller The Rift to Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment for the UK and Ireland as part of a three picture deal with the company.

Jinga has closed deals with Signature for UK and Ireland, Njuta for Scandinavia, Umbrella for Australia and New Zealand, VCinema for China and MovieCloud for Taiwan, on Jackson Stewart’s completed paranormal horror Beyond The Gates.
As previously reported, in a deal brokered by ICM Parters and Jinga, IFC Midnight acquired the film for North America and are planning a theatrical and VOD release in December 2016.

Korean sales company More In Group is handling international sales on Soi Cheang’s The Monkey King 2, which grossed $60m on its opening three days in China.
Produced by Hong Kong’s Filmko Entertainment and Chinese partners, the 3D fantasy epic stars Aaron Kwok and Gong Li. Filmko has already sold the film to around 15 territories. It opened in China on February 8, the first day of the Chinese New Year holidays.
