Doctor Scott has the contention that the virus is prehistoric, and that it had been buried deep in the Permafrost. As a result of global warming, the virus has now become accessible to wildlife, with terns carrying the deadly virus.
Doctor Scott submits her case for an expedition to The Bering Sea in the Arctic to purse her theory that the virus has been spread by Terns. She wants to find their breeding grounds and hopefully discover the source of the virus.
Speaking to her boyfriend (online) Doctor Scott advises she has obtained a ship from the navy for her expedition. She advises him to take precautions as the virus spreads.
