A great episode with some strange plot developments

My overall rating of "Bron/Broen"'s Season 3: 6/10

Ok, to get it out of the way: Mrs Andersen is probably the most "based" character the series has had. Sure, Saga has had her moments, but Mrs Andersen is 1) a loving and wise mother and wife 2) against degeneracy (and shown quite favourably, perhaps indicating a healthier, saner political climate in Denmark than in the liberal bastion of Sweden) 3) very pretty. Her outspoken views and sensible lessons to her daughter almost feel countercultural or edgy in the modern Western media environment, making this portrayal even braver and more important. In addition, much as I love Saga, she's not a particularly "plausible" character in reality, whereas the world provably has many Mrs Andersens, and may it have many more.

The characters and plot are mostly interesting and well-done, but there are moments that make me wonder - implausible or strange plot developments. Gangster shootouts and motorcycle escapes in Sweden, in which bystanders get hurt? Unfortunately not without real-world precedent, but let's just say the whole situation and the perpetrators involved would look quite differently; and I, perhaps optimistically, think it would warrant much more police and public attention. Gun (and gun accessory) availability? Unlikely. Aleksander's family situation? Hans' abduction(s)? Bizarre. And these are just some of the stranger elements, ignoring some of the other rough-around-the-edges or unpleasant moments.

(I've watched this series in original languages with English subtitles)
