In the words of Lisa Simpson... ''Meh''
j-libran1727 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This was a cute one, and I generally love seeing the family in the pre- Maggie days (as well as Hibbert's ever-changing haircuts from the past.) I thought this one had great callbacks, such as Grandma Flanders (''Hello Joe!'') Though I did notice her voice was somewhat different from what I remember.

I felt as though this one was a good episode for season 26, but at the same time, some of the elements don't seem to add up. For example, why were the younger versions of the bullies hanging outside in a dark alley? Ah well, I mustn't think to hard about those kinds of things. Not a very memorable episode, but it was an exceptional one. I also love the fact that they brought back the running gag up non-flammable objects exploding.

A funny episode.

Homer finds an undeveloped camera roll in his pocket, we're treated to a trip down memory Lane, and see the sibling rivalry that existed between Bart and Lisa.

Pretty funny this one, you do wonder how they manage to keep coming up with ideas for the show after so many years, and sometimes it does feel like ideas and themes are repeated, and I can deal with that, so long as it offers something.

It has funny moments throughout, Bart's bed, the discovery, and the psychic hotline.

Grandma Flanders is funny, a good episode. 7/10.

The Kids Are All Fight is a fantastic Simpsons episode with a very well developed storyline and loads of very funny scenes. It further develops on the younger Simpsons family, episodes that I always love, it's always fun to see these characters at different ages, whether it be past or future, it's refreshing and offers new storyline possibilities. These episodes normally have very sweet endings and I was disappointed that it didn't this time around, it just sort of ended, they normally have a sweet final line said by either Homer or Marge about how close they are as a family, I was certainly disappointed not to see that. I really liked how this episode took place right after the events of Lisa's First Words and even brought back some characters from that episode, I found this really interesting and would like to see it again, possibly with Lisa's Sax or And Maggie Makes Three. The Kids Are All Fight is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

Homer and Marge tell Bart and Lisa about their troublesome toddler years, as well as their first fight.

NOOOOOOOOO

This review in a nutshell: This so-called "Status Quo Is God" trope is pure BS.

-----

I thought Bart was arrested at the end of the previous episode (Peeping Mom), so why the hell does he make a totally normal appearance in the next episode (this one)?! This whole "Status Quo Is God" thing is total bull. Considering that Bart was noticeably absent in the remainder of the previous episode after his arrest, it's something that I thought they were going to take seriously, but NOPE! This is completely unacceptable and I will not stand to take this.

The fact that Bart had made a totally normal and usual appearance in this episode after what had happened to him in the previous episode makes even considering giving this episode more than 1 star completely out of the question. I don't care what happens in this episode or what this episode is about, I am NEVER rating it any higher than 1 star. Continuity is important in shows, and I will not accept being left on a cliffhanger not knowing what happened to Bart after he got arrested for the bulldozer incident in the previous episode. This is seriously *not* OK, and it can have very abysmal implications.

Differences between Classic and Modern Simpsons
santifersan25 April 2023
1) In Classic Simpsons, they made fun of the dysfunctional family that was common in the United States with a lot of wit and in a way that we could identify with. In Modern Simpsons, they laugh at Homer strangling Bart with "Also Spracht Zarathustra" playing in the background.

2) In Classic Simpsons, the toddler versions of Bart and Lisa were adapted to their corresponding age and even behaved like toddlers would in their situation. In Modern Simpsons, both behave like Dennis the Menace and like they still have their status quo ages, but from Modern Simpsons. Lisa is annoying here. In addition, they can land on their bedroom bed after being thrown from a distant tree, as if they were cartoons. There is nothing left of the realistic satire of society that we all loved from The Simpsons back then.

R. I. P The Simpsons.
