Still the best production on TV today

Done a number of reviews of individual episodes.

Have mentioned in the past that the writers seem to be constantly pushing themselves to show that they are the most innovative and aggressive writing/production team in the industry.

The amazing thing? They are succeeding.

A lot of great TV lately. In fact (said this in other reviews) TV overall is now much better than movies.

But to be the best, you need to set the tone and develop a signature feel.

Has Banshee done this? Yes they have:

* unique use of sound as a backdrop

* best use of flashbacks in the business

* unpredictable characters that you nonetheless care about

* explosive violence that catches the viewer offguard

* this series has killed off more beautiful female regulars than any other show I can think of

* determination to never present a boring episode

* characters aways evolving and changing

* unique use of camera angles and very distinctive editing, including heavy use of "match cuts"

Makes BREAKING BAD look like amateur hour.

Better Than Ever

Warning: Spoilers
Starting two years after Job was taken, Brock retracing Rebecca's steps, only to find Hood, Who has been missing for two years. Hood is as pessimistic as ever dealing with his grief in his own way. Only to find out that Rebecca has been murdered. The writers have added so much to this show. Finding the balance between so many characters and at the same time keeping the tempo of the show at it's high peek. Also want to mention that although this show is known for it's violence, It can be emotional at times, And that, Among other reasons is why this show is so original. I am curious on how they will end it, So many possibilities, So little time. Judging by the first episode all I can say is that it's gonna be one hell of a ride.

Holy **** What an emotional chapter!!!

Let's be honest, I'm in the 95% that start viewing this show to "kill some time" and practically because I've seen all the good shows on TV. And a show with a lot of action scenes, usually are just to pass the time and not getting involve with any character. Guess what? I was so wrong. Obviously, I don't get too attached to the characters as the viewers that start seeing this show since the beginning and wait months between season. But,damn, I need to say that I'm surprised in a great way. See the transformation of Lucas Hood and the city of Banshee was amazing. Since the moment the producers realized they don't need to show 5 or 6 "sex scenes" by chapter this show took another level. Not even for a second I think I was getting sad or cry during this show. I was wrong in that too. Anyway, great chapter, and I'm not disappointed to find by mistake this show. It's an all time favorite in my book and even worth the recommendation. Surprising.

A different show, but this episode is a strong one.

Warning: Spoilers
If someone would tell me that Banshee would take such a twist, I wouldn't believe it.

Well, that's exactly what they did. When Season 3 was finished everyone thought there wasn't a lot of places they could go with the story, the introduction of this new serial killer, the time span between Seasons 3 and 4, the search for a loyal friend and the grieving for characters who weren't so fortunate to be part of this last season, a lot of good stuff, even though some things just feel out of place.

Banshee entered a gritty and melancholic road with a lot of new darkness for a show that was already dark.
