Craven Talks Yet Again About Last House
Michael_Elliott7 March 2015
Still Standing: The Legacy of Last House on the Left (2011)

*** (out of 4)

Wes Craven sits down for a quick interview for this featurette that can be found on MGM's Blu-ray of THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. Craven, who went years without saying too much on the film, manages to be entertaining as he talks about why he thinks the film has survived over forty-years and he also gives his thoughts on the remake. As I said, Craven went years pretending he didn't remember this film but over the past decade we've seen countless DVD and Blu-ray releases across the world. The director has certainly opened up with various documentaries and a commentary track on the making of the film so there's quite a bit of information out there. This new featurette really doesn't add anything new with the exception of the talk about the remake. It's interesting to hear Craven's thoughts on that film and why he wanted to remake it to begin with. Fans of either version will be entertained with this featurette, although there's certainly nothing ground-breaking here.
