An early on-screen title says the episode (#1.2) takes place in July 1983. When the two lieutenants report to the hotel conference site in Bonn later the same day, half the leaves on the trees have changed colors.
Martin after returning to his room is welcomed by an Asian agent and getting into a fight with her, yet he drops her from room 402 instead of room 403, where he had his room booked at.
The LT. is in Room 403, but when he is shown after his sojourn into Mr. Meyer's room, it appears he is in Room 402.
In "Brave Guy" after Stamm is attacked in his hotel room by the Asian lady, it is highly unlikely that after all the events of him being attacked by a potential spy from, as Stamm claimed, "the KGB or Chinese Intelligence" and after it is discovered that a NATO analysts top secret floppy disc has been stolen to of his hotel room, that Stamm would simply be told to clean himself up and that he and all concerned rejoined the party. In reality, Stamm would have been taken to another location immediately and thoroughly interviewed for hours by the West German or American intelligence services as to every specific of the encounter and exactly what he saw, as well as the intelligence services photographing the entire scene of Stamms assault.
After Stamm was attacked by a reported foreign agent in the hotel hosting the NATO meeting and what must have been a top secret floppy disc containing the thoughts and strategies of NATO's theories of fighting a limited nuclear war being stolen by said agent from the hotel room of its author, the fact that such an infiltration and security breach happened in the hotel with all the high ranking NATO members and staff, it is very unlikely that Stamm would simply be allowed to go back down to the party and rejoin the social event. What would more likely have happened would be Stamm would be whisked away to another location to be debriefed for several hours by either U.S. or West German intelligence services, (where he probably would have been exposed during indepth questioning for the East German spy that he was, as everyone involved would be considered a suspect until proven otherwise) the party would have been immediately broken up and all high ranking members would leave the now security breached hotel, and intelligence services would have flooded the hotel with agents and conducted interviews of the hotel staff, as well as photographed and collected forensic evidence from the scene in Stamms room where the assault happened.
The soldiers jogging through the woods wear plain blue suits for jogging. Actually, the jogging suits used at that time (and for years to come) were made by Adidas and had the trademark stripes down the arms, and a light blue shoulder area (the rest of the suit being darker blue). This suit was introduced not until 1986. Back in 1983, the standard workout outfit for German military was plain dark blue, as correctly displayed in the picture.
Hacksaw blade used when breaking into the room was marked "Made in Germany", at this time it would have stated Made in West Germany.
While breaking into Mr. Meyer's hotel room and looking for the safe and file, he uses a Mini-Maglite flashlight. Mini-maglites did not come out until 1984, according to the Mg-lite site.
After Martin's fight with the woman and attending the party downstairs he is sitting on the sofa with a table of drinks behind him. On that table is a bottle of Jack Daniels but it is a modern square design bottle only made available way after the year 2000. The bottle design was different in the 80s.
