Rob and Sharon disagree about the baby's future, she wants an Irish godfather, but that would mean a baptism, Rob disagrees. For the first time Rob gets to meet Sharon's parents, they hear of the upcoming wedding, and the baby news. They re visit the Doctor, Sharon hears that being a geriatric patient increases risk to the baby, she needs to do another test. The cat's out of the bag, Fran has discovered Chris has been hanging out a lot with Rob, he's arranged a meeting between the two. The meeting is a disaster, but events lead to Sharon considering Fran and Chris to be godparents. Awesomely Sharon gets the all clear.
I love the awkwardness for Rob, surrounded by Sharon's family. Sharon's reaction to the Doctor's announcements are so funny, again you shouldn't laugh, but how can you not. Her sick scene is another.
This episode brings in a moral argument too, when the Doctor advises her about the possibilities possibly in store for her as an older mum there was a very deliberate change in tone, it was well done. The last scene was beautifully poignant.
The last two episodes were good, Part 4 has got the show truly back on form, it's a great episode, funny and moving. 9/10
