Fairly generic action comedy...

I sat down to watch the 2015 action comedy "Mang Long Te Jiong" (aka "Undercover Duet") for the first time here in 2022. In fact, I had never heard about this movie from writer and director Mark Wu before I sat down to watch it. So I had no idea what I was in for, nor did I have any expectations.

The storyline in "Mang Long Te Jiong" was actually okay, but the story's narrative was a bit too slow paced and felt prolonged and dragged out. And with the movie runinng for 1 hour and 54 minutes, it just felt extraordinarily long. The movie could have benefitted from some trimming in the editing booth.

The character gallery in the movie was adequate, though it quickly wore thin with Ronald Cheng's character, Dream Dragon, constantly having to give English outbursts of cussing and swearing.

Ultimately then "Mang Long Te Jiong" was a watchable, although a rather generic and nondestinct one. So the movie came and went without leaving any lasting impression. And for a Hong Kong action comedy, then "Mang Long Te Jiong" just wasn't outstanding or memorable.

My rating of "Mang Long Te Jiong" lands on a bland five out of ten stars.
