Geeeesh just watchable but only after blazing hard
cammills-6490611 April 2017
If you liked Kung Fury, Turbo Kid, Sharknado or anything with Barbara Streisand then Neil Stryker is watchable. Not love as it just isn't that good or bad or bad good or good bad if you catch my drift. Its just bad for way to long compared to the ones first mentioned above. Watch after chopping a full bowl and pleasuring your partner as they will get restless after 5 minutes.

Truly Aweful!

How this can score any stars is amazing. Everything about this film is rubbish! The acting is rubbish. The script is rubbish. The effects are rubbish.

The writing is right up there with "Plan 9 From Outer Space"
mrartiste9 August 2022
It's hard to describe just how bad this thing is. My greatest complaint is summed up in the title of my post. The stilted and clumsy script is comparable to the almost indescribably bad "Plan 9 From Outer Space". And that is AFTER taking into account that it is intended to be outlandishly over-the-top in terms of its cheesy dialogue.

In short, even on its own terms of campy, buffoonish comedy, it FAILS, completely and utterly!

OMGs!!!! Loved this movie
kjj-6818312 April 2017
While it is very obvious that the special effects are cheesy and the story had some major plot devices that just come out of left field, I can say this is movie is like an homage to every 80's action flick ever made. Actually it is better than most 80's action flicks... Anyway, my teenage daughter and I watched this movie and we could not stop laughing while becoming totally engrossed into the story. Near the end, my daughter turned to me and said, "How are they going to tie the story up? There's not enough time!" She didn't intend the pun, which made it even better. Regardless, they did leave the story open for another movie. So that leaves me with only one question: When is the sequel coming out? Please be soon!!!! Oh yeah, Walter Koenig is awesome in this!!!

Definitely NOT for Children Watching
dncorp23 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Good Movie for those that enjoy the Adult Humor of National Lampoon.

Good CGI mixed in with 1960s to 1980s Props.

Intentionally made having a 1960s to 1980s "B Movie" kind of Plot. Even the Title, Neil Stryker and the Tyrant of Time, sounds like one of those 2 movies for the price of one "B Movies" shown at Theaters or Drive-Ins (like "Now Showing" 1978 Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!, 1984 Revenge of the Killer Tomatoes, 1988 Return of the Killer Tomatoes all showing one after the other for the price of one Movie Ticket).

(Spoiler) Neil Stryker and the Tyrant of Time, sounds like a Children's Movie; but, definitely is NOT. Unless, you want questions about the Naked Ladies, "Vaginas", "Rusty Trombone", etc..

(Spoiler) An Old Goblin using a stick, living in the base of a tree......looked like Star Wars "Yoda".

A mix of A List Actors, B List Actors, and C List (New Actors).

Like a love child of Stalin and Hitler
nogodnomasters5 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This film is the sequel to "Evil Cult." Even if you saw that film, most likely you won't remember much about as it came out in 2003. Neil Stryker (Rob Taylor) is a paid assassin in a large group of paid assassins. He once attended MIT and learned from The Mad Scientist (Rob Taylor in a bad wig). The Mad Scientist has created time travel and plans on taking over the world by going back to December 24th, stealing all of Santa's toys and "breeding with Mrs. Claus." There are other plans, but none explained as well as this one. Neil has a device to track the Mad Scientist through time.

The film was more of a generic spoof of spy and science fiction films. The scenes appeared like they were all from different genres of films spliced together. A scene with goblin puppets with the leader sounding a bit like Churchill. There was a musical number. A locker room scene. Then there was the zeppelin scene where Neil is like Tom Cruise from "Mission Impossible." There was a lot of CG work. At times I thought about Buckaroo Banzai. Walter Koenig plays an old Russian fighting goblins.

This is a cult film, not for everyone. Winner for best comedy at Oregon Independent Film Festival 2016, Best feature film actor and director at Studio City Film Festival, US 2016 .

Overacting & Nudity, Not Much Money For Sets
wamwatcher21 May 2017
Saw this on a big screen at Midwest Weirdfest. It is fun for what it is, a movie that took several years to make with no money. And the actress playing the Nurse said "There's Nudity!" ~ & Over-The-Top-Acting, which is my big gripe for the film. Regarding the acting, I thought the villain was too far over the top & our hero not far behind.

They did one cool acting trick with Koenig & his "younger self" that caught me off guard, so I loved it. David Oden Stiers knew someone on set & lobbied to be in it...

Another movie for the curious.

A New Hope
mwb1005-869-74279219 April 2017
This film took ten years to make. The love and labor shows tremendously. It's so damn clever, and snarky. If I had one complaint, it would be that I don't own the Bluray as of yet. The pace of the film is fantastic. The effects are, for the most part, all practical! Goblin puppets?! The digital effects are also so wonderful (such as a way cool body force field at one point). And the cast, led by Rob Taylor and Nic Costa (both playing multiple roles), is so damn funny. They really show us a fun and original time. The Mad Scientist has the funniest voice I have ever heard. I have read reviews from around the globe that the cast and crew obviously didn't take themselves too seriously (and sure, they have a great sense of humor), but when I look at the sets that these folks built alone, with hardly a "budget", I cannot justify that summation. NSTOT should give Indie Filmmakers hope to realize their own filmmaking dreams. Give this movie a try, because it's bound to be a classic. It goes for the throat, and sucks you in. Also, cool vagina!

Neil Stryker and The Tyrant Of Time So Much Fun
theshowbizscene8 June 2017
I was lucky enough to see Neil Stryker and The Tyrant Of Timeat the Sci Fi London Film Festival which was held at the Stratford Picture House in London. and it was one of my favorite gems that the festival had to offer. It is a totally bonkers, but fun movie that is both insane and brilliant all at the same time. It also has one of the best cameos of a well known actor that I have seen.

It is a film that has clearly a dedication of love as the film took many years to make but the end result makes the wait so well worth it. I just hope it does not take 10 years before we next see Neil Stryker.

Go and see this movie you will love it.
