  Theo Galavan : [Theo drops Jerome to his back holding the knife in]  I know, I know. This is not what we rehearsed. I'm so sorry, Jerome. You have real talent. But now, you see, the plot thickens. Enter the hero.

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome strains and chuckles trying to speak]  You said... I was... gonna be...

And I remember one time - It was my ninth birthday - Him and my mom had just finished round one of boozing, boning, beating up Jerome, and were deciding to take a little break. Anyway! I was outside the trailer, and you were there. And you said, 'Why are you crying, Jerome?' 'It's my birthday. And my mom and the snake guy are beating me.' And then you said, 'This world doesn't care about you or anyone else, Jerome. Better to realize that now.' And that was it.

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome walks up to his father with a knife]  You see, there's this guy, Dad, he believes in me. He thinks I'm gonna be a star. And, tonight, all of Gotham will see that, too. Except for you. 'Cause you'll be, you know, dead.

• [Paul Cicero tells his son Jerome Valeska how the people of Gotham are going to remember him] 

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome asks with a smile across from his father]  Hey, you're psychic. So, tell me, do I kill?

  Paul Cicero : You... will be a curse upon Gotham. Children will wake from sleeps screaming at the thought of you. Your legacy will be death and madness.

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome leans into his father's ear and whispers]  Ha, ha, ha.

• [Jerome Valeska calls out for Bruce Wayne in the audience of hostages] 

  Jerome Valeska : Well, I think it's time for tonight's first official victim, you all know and love, poor rich boy, parents murdered in an alley, and my favorite volunteer. Where is... Bruce Wayne?

  Jerome Valeska : [the audience remains silent as Jerome calmly says]  You know I'm an orphan, too, Bruce. I killed my parents though.

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome growls into the microphone]  Where are you hiding?

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome screams out]  Bruce! Where are you, buddy?

• [Jerome Valeska tells Officer Gordon his demands from the Gala] 

  James Gordon : You son of a bitch.

  Jerome Valeska : True, but not the point. Hey, let's talk about what I want.

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome clears his throat]  Excuse me. $47 million, a helicopter, obviously, the dry cleaning I left at Mr. Chang's - Be careful the man is a crook - And, mm, I don't know, a pony. Uh... you got ten minutes, or I start killing people. Remember, this is being broadcast to every home in Gotham, so, you know, don't let people die. Bye.

  [Jerome laughs and cackles continuously before hanging up] 

  Jerome Valeska : [Jerome continues to cackle as he turns back to the stage of the Gala in a calm, stern face, end laughter]  I think that went well.

• Paul Cicero : [comes home tapping his white cane]  Who's there? I know someone's there.

  Jerome Valeska : Hi-ya, Pops. Long time no *see*.
