very simple love story

Warning: Spoilers
Nithiin pulls off his part convincingly. His dialogue delivery has always been his problem. And he still has a problem telling his dialogues in one flow. But barring that he fits the role. Mishti Chakraborthy is yet another new girl who gets introduced with the film. She is a decent find for the role of Nandini. Incidentally, she reminds of Shriya in some frames. She does pull off her role well, but again you feel she is better off playing the heroine's friend or the second heroine than the heroine herself. But she gets a meaty role and she does it with confidence. Nazir, Rohini, Naresh, Sitara are all adequate for their roles. Ali's role, while being important, is not exactly hilarious. Love stories usually work best if they have melodies and a couple of racy numbers. But Anoop Ruben's does not recreate the magic he created with Manam or even Oka Laila Kosam. The songs are totally forgettable once you walk out of the theatre, barring Chinnadana Nee Kosam. Cinematography is decent and the film is visually good in most places. Nithin had always wanted to work with Karunakaran, who had directed his favourite star Pawan Kalyan in films like Tholi Prema. But Karunakaran is definitely not at his best as far as Chinnadana Nee Kosam is concerned. Frothy love stories are fun to watch especially during the holiday season. The air is filled with festive mood and the audiences are out to enjoy themselves. So, watching the posters of Chinnadana Nee Kosam, there were high expectations among audiences, especially the young ones. But Karunakaran disappoints by giving them a half-baked film which does keep you immersed during the first half. Though it's primarily a love story, you still enjoy the pranks and love-hate relationship between Nithin and Nandini. And then comes the interval bang and the scene shifts to Barcelona. Suddenly, you are excited hoping to see picturesque locations and the thriving life in Barcelona. But what you see is a hurried and rushed effort at wrapping up the film which draws inspiration from films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, Maine Pyar Kiya and other similar films. The entire gay episode while probably being politically incorrect does not tickle you one bit. Ali is totally wasted in an ill-conceived character. Being a seasoned director, Karunakaran should have concentrated more on the second half and given better screenplay. The entire second half is patchy and you only wait for the film to end. Incidentally, this has been the trend with a lot of films these days. Almost all the films that have released recently have had good to decent first halves, while the second halves have been totally bad. Nithin tries to salvage the film by putting in a shot of Pawan Kalyan and referring to his name a few times. The final dialogue is in fact a promo of sorts for Pawan Kalyan's forthcoming film. But all film- makers have to remember that the audiences who do not tolerate a bad film even from the Power Star himself, will surely not fall into the trap of watching a badly made film just because it has references of Pawan Kalyan. Though Chinnadana Nee Kosam starts off on a promising note, it totally gets lost in Barcelona.

Immature and highly commercial movie
anujufriends3 January 2015
Let me start with the positives. Few things which can be applauded in this movie are Nithin's acting,... am thinking... Nothing else !!! I think director and producers got the money they thought of (return on INVESTMENT). Story is worse, Songs unbearable (except one) and everything else heats up the brain. True cinema lovers, please avoid and save your money on something more productive. I don't know why directors cannot go for good movies and why talented actors go on to take such bad scripts. Once a bad cinema is directed, its a waste trying to get fake accolades off it. One a whole, waste of money and time.

Tedious Watch

Movie Marathon V.4 # 011

From the beginning of the movie itself i felt that the movie is a void. It didn't surprise me at all. After some good romantic movies, nithin is back with a low esteem romantic movie which falls very flat. Story was absolute immature. An unemployed carefree youngster falls in love with a girl and the whole family supports the affair. And one day, she vanishes and the boy finds out the whereabouts of the girl and he follows her to avenge her. WoW!!! What a story?? Whatever happens in between will makes you crazy. Nithin's over actions (or) reactions (whatever) and social messages that he used to spit were very boring. Mishti Chakraborty looked gorgeous. Couple of songs were okay, but couldn't save the movie. The logicless story and situation makes this as a tedious watch.

My rating 2.3 on 10

Everyone's a critic these days

Warning: Spoilers
Couch potatoes with no talent who fail to recognize the creativity and hard work behind films are nothing but paper tigers. This film has a good story. It's suspenseful. When Nandini (played by Mishti) disappears suddenly, Nithin with his unrequited love is left with a choice to either hate Nandini or still help her. He choses the later and creatively solves Nandini's family troubles to win her over. The movie is fun to watch. Comedy scenes are done well. Music is not so great but otherwise, it's a nicely done movie.
