Professor Jay Verma (Parvin Dabas) has hit the nadir in his life, his marriage is all but over, and that too, because of his psychologically depressive state, as a consequence of the suicide of an ex-student of his. He wants to get his life back on track, but doesn't find the support. To make matters worse, he suspects his wife of adultery, a feeling that threatens him to breakdown completely. Unable to cope, he makes a clandestine contract with a new exchange student of his class, Ronnie - the deal is that if Ronnie will murder Jay's wife, Jay will help publish Ronnie's research material with his professional edits.

Ronnie initially walks out of the incredulous proposal, but eventually agrees to carry out the crime. On the prearranged date, Jay returns home from his university and knowing that the deed is done, lodges a complaint with the local police that his wife has gone missing. The police though, suspect Jay of foul play and launch their own investigation, something that spirals quickly out of Jay's control and his very sanity is under a threat. He cannot steer himself clear without Ronnie's help and that is a statistical impossibility.

Mirror Game is a low key, underrated but gripping psychological thriller directed by Vijit Sharma. The cast is unheralded, but the film doesn't lose its credibility for that. There aren't too many characters duringthe runningtimecof under 2 hours, keeping matters focused and ensuring Jay's character being on the edge throughout. It's a decent presentation that thriller buffs will enjoy.
