Feel good message with humor
sheritarman23 July 2019
I'm only through half the episodes but am really enjoying this series. Lead actor Kyung ho Jung is very versatile in showing both serious and humor. I have begun to be a fan of his aide , actor Si eon Lee, who pays Woo Sik since seeing him in Abyss. Funny, funny actor. Looking forward to the conclusion.

Sad elements but good story
leahcubed27 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The male lead, Min-Ho's (Jung Kyoung-Ho) is a cut-throat businessman who works for a company that forces mergers and buys up assets on failing businesses. His near psychotic practices has earned him the nickname the serial killer. His life goal has been to get revenge on his uncle who cheated his family out of assets when his father died by taking over the company Min-Ho's father created. The female lead, Soon-Jung (played by Kim So-Yeon) is a senior secretary whose father was part of the power structure who enabled Min-Ho's uncle to gain control of the company when Min-Ho's father died. father ran a large company, but his death led to his uncle taking over the company. Soon-Jung has lived her life caring about other people and the company she has dedicated her life to more than herself. Her please to Min-Ho to save the innocent factory workers fall on deaf ears until Min-Ho literally has a change of heart.

It was interesting to explore the issue of cellular memory and a thought that perhaps memories could be stored in areas other than the brain. There have been a couple of cases that have been hard to dismiss as coincidence in real life although mainstream science does not embrace the concept. This is a heavy show. There is romance, murder mystery and corporate intrigue which makes it interesting and keeps you engaged. I was really worried about how it would end and was convinced that it may not end well. It ended up okay though. I liked the interaction and relationship between a variety of the characters.

Most ratings are in the high 8s out of 10 and I would agree with that. I would add, however, it is not light hearted and those that are easily saddened by events in media might consider timing when they watch this (don't think it will cheer you up - the topics are much heavier than that).

Beating again is worth the watch

Warning: Spoilers
Really good show. I wasn't thrilled about the main guys attitude at first but he gets better. Then I wasn't thrilled about the second guys attitude then he got worst. Eh, that's drama for ya! The actors all did a great job and made the show interesting. I loved our main couple and rooted for them so much, so glad it had a happy ending!

Pure emotion

I don't really know what to say. I didn't want to watch this series but after a few episodes, I was hooked. I tell myself at least try four episodes and after that stop watching if you don't like it.

This drama has emotional moments and cried. Almost. Excellent.

Different Tone Than What I Was Expecting
fake_moviestar28 September 2020
So the poster and the genre categorizations really fooled me into thinking this was a rom-com. While there were a few humorous scenes, for the most part this was a full on drama, with mostly serious plot-lines.

Kang Min-Ho has a serious heart condition, and after unexpectedly receiving a donor heart, he begins to change - is it because of the heart or the people around him? This is the core story line, and it is done very well. I loved how Min-Ho changed gradually and in a realistic manner that didn't feel like he had a totally different personality. I also liked how for the most part they were realistic about his medical condition, with him having to recuperate in the hospital after surgery instead of bouncing back right away (which is an irritating pet-peeve of mine).

Jung Kyung-Ho really shone in this, with Yoon Hyun-Min doing a great job as the rival/villian. The FL was fine, I liked her but she didn't particularly shine in any way. Easily my favorite character was Min-Ho's male secretary Woo Sik, who was lovely, loyal, funny, and sweet. The bromance scenes were the most enjoyable of all, even over the romance for me.

As a side note I really wish Min Ho had kept that long red hair throughout the series, it was seriously a LOOK!

Suspense. Romance. Corporate Life
KdramaInStudio23 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This was a capturing series. After, Crash Landing On You, I thought it would be hard to beat but this show did just that. If you want to see corporate life at its worst watch these shows. It Doesn't matter where you live in the world, corporate drama and greed stays the same. Just when you think it can't possibly get any worse, some alternative solution arises. In the beginning, the main character is an annoying capitalist that destroys every employees dreams. In time, one woman challenges and encourages him to be the best he can for all involved. This same woman looses her fiancé early on and his heart is transplanted into the main character. Which is part of why he has a character change. The doctor And the fiancé are great supporting roles to the main character man and woman. The romantic scenario is so real it is why one binge watches. I rated it 9 stars because the last episode, the ending was weird. It eluded to one ending but became unclear about what really happened. I think this was worthy of another series and they should of continued on where the story really ended. "Beating Again" was equally about corporate destruction, power and position as it was in the romance department.

Cute

The character connections were enjoyable. The love story was sweet. The evolution of the characters was simple and humorous at times.

Good Enough
PennyReviews13 March 2019
My main concern with this drama was the love story. It felt kind of odd, as I wasn't sure which person did the leading lady fall for. The story had it's boring parts as well. Sometimes, it was dragging and in other times it just didn't make me want to keep watching, as the mystery was revealed to the viewers early on and so we just waited for the characters to realize it as well. The performances, however, were really good. Plus, there were moments when the story got really sad. But, overall, the drama was just okay, so five out of ten.
