Episode 6

Warning: Spoilers
Well, it took 6 episodes too long, but we are finally free of that horrible villain that was miscast and brought down this show. The chemistry is still not there for the Defenders which is shocking since all of them are good on their own shows.

I am glad this show happened, but so far it is a little bit underwhelming.

I quite liked this episode. A lot of suspense and tension as it builds towards a climax of sorts. Nice to see Iron Fist tied to a chair for much of it while a couple of shock character deaths at the end work out nicely.

Not Gelling

Warning: Spoilers
The team...isn't. This is a staple of comics, where the team-ups have to have friction of some sort. This usually lasts for a few arcs, slowly overcoming these obstacles.

So far, this series is following that formula; the only difficulty I have is that what works in comics doesn't necessarily translate well to the screen. This episode highlights the difficulty in translation. The 'sidelining' of Iron Fist is extremely hard to swallow, as it makes no sense in the context of either this series or the characters in their own series.

This series is trying to be less a superhero action romp and more of a character study and holding a mirror up to modern life. This is a tough line to straddle as most superhero fans aren't into deep character studies and those into deep characters aren't into action romps. I suppose it's a lofty goal, but it falls short of the mark. The best episodes...in my opinion...are the more action-oriented ones. The ones trying to be 'more'...like this one...are not as engaging or interesting, and there's little indication whether the 'character development' will carry over to the individual series.

Your mileage may vary, of course...I'm more action-oriented, so keep that in mind.

Cinzas, Cinzas

Os Defensores (2017)

Series

1st Season

Episode Six - Cinzas, Cinzas

Love is beautiful.

I finally loved the interaction between Luke Cage and Iron Fist, but Iron Fist's biggest flaw is being a big crybaby who seeks attention, and who wants to recite every sentence all the time (it must be the thing he learned the most there with the monks).

I don't know who was dumber, the Scooby-Doo gang in arresting Iron Fist or Stick in wanting to put Luke Cage to sleep to try to kill Iron Fist.

Villains don't even need to be that intelligent to fight these heroes.

But still, even with these stupidities, I thought it was a very good episode, I didn't know that Stick died.

When I saw Madame Gao, in the final scene, looking scared seeing Elektra killing Elektra, then I was scared, if she's scared it's because the thing is serious.

Episode six of the first season of the Miniseries Os Defensores watched on May 3, 2024.

Rating: 9/10.

Badly written (every episode till here)
OnjiMooteDaMarle21 August 2017
Every episode is badly written. The first episode goes very slow and is understandable but every episode is written with one goal in mind - the climax of the episode should be so & so. Same goes with this episode. Instead of using the already strongly built characters who have/ had their own TV shows and were really well-written (except for the Iron Fist), it's a shame that they are not bringing out the characters in a fine way and they are not even working on the story. The entire Defenders team can defeat The Hand in around 2 episodes but the writers wanted to make it thrilling and use really cheap writing. It's such a shame. Every episode the defenders either win by the end depending on that very episode and not the entire story of the series. This episode had something very silly. I just couldn't digest that the climax could have happened the way they have written. Yet people have been blinder than the Daredevil to rate this series on a high note.

Annoying and Boring! [4.5/10]

Warning: Spoilers
Live Reaction / Review for The Defenders Episode 06: The fifth episode was awful and I gave it a rating of 4/10. I hope this episode is somewhat decent at least. Now is everyone against Iron Fist, it seems like they run our of ideas. The fight scene was short but still one of the best fight scenes of the show so far. What a boring episode, just like the previous one, why do I keep torturing myself watching this. Why Stick wanted Cage to fall asleep? Im confused. I don't understand why Stick didn't fall asleep like Cage and Fist.

Finally Stick dies, never was a big fan of the character. So the japanese guy wants to kill Alexandra and then he changes his mind and everybody is cool with that? What nonsense is this? Iron First has to be one of the most boring characters in television history, every time he is on screen I start yawning. Elektra regains her old self? Finally something interesting and also killing Alexandra, now that's a plot twist. Overall a bad episode, slow, uninteresting, boring, forgettable. My rating is 4.5/10.
