1st Season Episode Two - Gancho de Direita

For now, the coolest core is Jessica Jones and the worst core is Luke Cage.

Iron Fist is an annoying character but so far he hasn't ruined my experience watching this saga, but we'll see when I get to his series.

Finally they are meeting.

Episode 2

Warning: Spoilers
A bit better the series premiere, but the show is still underwhelming. They made Iron Fist look like a joke off the bat by getting massacred by Cage.

This almost felt like a Jessica Jones episode with how much she was on screen and that was a wise move as she's my favorite of the four.

I just hope this ends up being about something more than The Hand. Whether it was Season 2 of Daredevil or Season 1 of Iron Fist, that subject ruined both of those shows.

Solid Follow-up Episode for Defenders
enterzec19 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
After almost two episode with the defenders still not meeting each other we finally get Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and of course we have to see them go head to head with each other right away. Cage clearly had it under control until Danny used his glowing fist to win the fight. Right at the end we also saw Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) try to step in as Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) attorney which we can assume goes pretty bad as Jessica isn't the one who wants any help.

Just as the first episode this continued with four different stories, Danny and Colleen still trying to find the hand, Luke Cage trying to help a boy stay out of trouble. Jessica is looking in to her case and Matt having to make a decision to get back into the fight to stop crime in New York. Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) was a decent character to start with but he has really started to settle in as Foggy and it was great seeing him again together with Matt at the bar. Misty Knight (Simone Missick) have appeared quite a lot so far and her run ins with Jessica has been entertaining so far while Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) seems out-of-place. It's understandable that they want to bring in supporting characters from the other shows but her characters scenes so far has been the low-point for these episodes.

The villain Alexandra played by Sigourney Weaver has been highlight so far with the character appearing very threatening without really doing anything. Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho) is always a pleasant surprise when she shows up in a Marvel series. With her appearing in Defenders it really seems like Marvel has done a good job of setting up these series from the very beginning. Overall another solid episode and with this episode ending the way it did we can assume that Defenders is really going to kick-off in the next episode.

Score: 6/10 (Solid)

Mediocre & Boring Once Again [6.3/10]
panagiotis199327 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Live Reaction / Review for The Defenders Episode 02: The first episode was really mediocre and boring, I gave it a rating of 5.8/10. I hope this episode is an upgrade. The episode starts with a really cool scene with Matt. Good start. 20 minutes in and I feel super bored watching this. I thought this is supposed to be a team up thing. I wonder when they will meet each other. So far the characters don't really do anything interesting. It feels more like a disjointed mess where someone just put a bunch of random videos together and called it an episode. Nice to see Matt and Foggy talking again. Ok Iron Fist meets Luke Cage, that's good. I hope that in the next episode the whole team will be together. Matt meets Jessica? Nice! Overall it's better than the first episode but still it is somewhat mediocre. My rating is 6.3/10.

Irritating camera work

What's with the unnecessary camera setup and DUTCH ANGLES, NOTHING BUT DUTCH ANGLES? It's distracting and irritating to watch.

Still confusing
transylvanianmovielover9 October 2017
After 2 episodes ,I still have a hard time getting who's what, what's the main purpose and target of every character ,nothing is explained...and it's missing lights;it hard to see what is happening, most of the scenes are shot at night or inside with bad lighting . Being a Marvel series this one seemed attractive,so I hope the next episodes will shed some more light.

No further
Leofwine_draca3 February 2022
Two episodes in and we're no further to any kind of coherence. Just separate plot strands that sometimes join together but mostly not. I was hoping for more than this, but hopefully it will pick up.
