Softcore porn with no discernable plot
johnanthonymazzei12 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Softcore porn with no discernable plot. Nudity and sex scenes aplenty that fails to tell a story. In reading the IMDB summary this movie sounded interesting. The description had to come from the film makers themselves. The movie did not convey many of the things described.

A story told in non-linear fashion keeps your attention. The inter-relatedness of the scenes is usually explained / tied together by the movie's ending. such as Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction." This movie was just random scenes: New York in winter, girl/girl sex scenes, boy/girl sex scene, Lunch scene. Of this collection the lunch scene was the most helpful in figuring out this movie.

Technical flaws or items that bothered me: The movie was in black and white save for a few scenes shown in color for no apparent reason. The model / Dee's scenes with "The Other" or the married man bordered on being ridiculous. They have sex, actively humping, while both are still wearing their underwear. This contrasts with Dee and Elenore's scenes that show full frontal nudity and come close to showing penetration. Cut to the bathroom scene, Dee is in the tub and the man walks in wearing a loin cloth. I though the director was against male nudity but, I was wrong. As we watch in full view as the man lifts his loin cloth and washes his penis in the sink. Illogical that he would put on a loin cloth to join his sex partner in the bathroom. Although it adds to his unlikability by having him wash in the sink. During this Dee is in the tub and the bath mat was left hanging on the side of the tub. People that use towels as bath mats typically put them on the floor when bathing to avoid getting the towel soaking wet and to actually use them as bath mats. My best guess is that the tub wasn't filled for this scene.

The color and lighting were a miss and only added to the lack of purpose in this movie. Black and white to color and back again, repeatedly. The last scene with Dee and Elenore was shot in the dark. It could have been done with shadow puppets. I gave you a three star rating, because your movie will serve teenagers well as a masturbatory aid. Next time a little more story a little less nudity.

A series of scenes strung together without clarity
mfoxartist24 September 2023
I wouldn't say this was soft-core porn because the sex scenes aren't quite graphic enough for that, but the movie (if 51 minutes really constitutes a movie) has done a remarkable job of not feeling sexy. It is filmed in black and white with a few candid scenes shot by Elenore or the photographer on their phones in color.

It starts off with Elenore meeting the photographer...ten minutes later they're married for no discernible reason. Ten minutes after that they're separated, again for no discernible reason except the photographer says "I guess you were just too wild for me." Elenore is the one who dumped the photographer, just to be clear, which this movie is not ever.

Their entire discussion of how you can only fall in love three times in your lifetime makes no sense, since Elenore has apparently been in love at least twice yet she says it's only once...implying that she was never in love with her ex-wife or that she's currently not in love with the woman she moved in with afterwards, which can't be true because she tells the photographer "I'm in love with her." Yet Elenore and the photographer are back together and end up having sex again even though they've separated and Elenore is "in love" with another woman.

If you think I've confused you, wait until you see the movie! Plus we never see the other woman that Elenore fell in love with, only the married man that she's cheating with. And his involvement makes Elenore bisexual. And Elenore is cheating on the woman that she cheated on her marriage with. Unless this man is actually the one who Elenore is cheating on her marriage with? But she clearly said, "I'm in love with her" to the photographer, so she's cheating with another woman, not a man. And I've confused you again. Yeah, me too.

Basically, this is a train wreck of a plot and utterly without logic or reason. It gets an extra star for having some decent cinematography and a naturalistic atmosphere. But more than almost any movie I've seen, this belongs at the bottom of any "must see" list.

Warning: Spoilers
Well 51 minutes of trying to figure out what this film was about. The script jumps all over in non linear fashion. I'm still trying to figure out the plot, other than a woman enjoying sex with both men and women. Being married to the photographer at some point, being in love 3 times, oh and the affair.

Filmed in black and white until the photographer uses her cellphone and it changes to colour. I'm sure there is a reason, although I'm not sure what it was. But bravo to the actresses for their mildly graphic sex scenes

I'd recommend giving this film a miss unless you want to spend your time wondering what you're watching other than soft porn.
