Right when it starts to get super good you wanna cancel it ? Yeah it starts off slow and you're wondering if it's just another political show but it's not it's so much more they built momentum from season 1 to present it's very sad it was cancelled, i just got done watching it on netflix and thought it was amazing, i wanna know what happens next!
Series three finished with a cliffhanger and no ending. Why the heck can't these production houses plan things better. I get it, ratings go down a bit, ditch the show.
Well in that case, plan and write the series so that the actual ending is at the end of series three without the need for a fourth series. Bloody dishonourable morons. Art and business don't mix so well. I want to know what happened !
They could give the go-ahead like what happened with sense-8. Fund a final chapter. The final act could be compressed into a single movie length episode. So they save money, and appease us fans.

I absolutely hate watching mid story cancelled shows.
More than that, I hate the way companies like Netflix and Amazon etc market a show with the full knowlege that they are incomplete works. I strongly believe that such shows should come with a disclaimer.
I wouldn't start reading a book or watching a movie with the knowlege that the book had the last chapter missing or that the movie theatre would turn the projector off with 20 mins of the movie left, so why these companies get away with misleading marketing routinely is beyond me.
So a few episodes into Colony I thought I'd pop onto IMDB to write a review only to find out that this brilliantly executed show had been axed.
Despite this I decided to stick with COLONY as it is truly exceptional. So good in fact that I am continuing to watch it even though i know with absolute certainty that it will piss me off in the end.
This is definitely my kind of sci-fi. It combines political drama, intrigue, mystery and classical sci-fi themes along with a sprinkling of cop show, detective, revolutinary type elements. It touches on cult worship and religions, whether the right thing to do is to fall in line with your oppressors or resist and risk the possible death of the innocent in the fight.
It also brutally hits home how controllable human beings really are especially with todays technology. Give a regime enough control and at a certain point you simply won't be able to wrench that control back. Convince or coerce enough people to side with the system, and you're freedoms are gone. It's all a matter of when and how that balance tips for or against you.
It also shows advanced aliens truly acting intelligently. Instead of just appearing out of nowhere and nuking everything in sight, they simply take control of those who have control and power to begin with. The scare tactics, intimidation and psychological warfare techniques are spot on.
The shows pacing, acting and directing is good. The atmosphere is oppressive as it should be.
As an early fan of The Walking Dead who finally gave up watching after either the one eyed patch guy, the baseball bat dude or the cannibals (I can't remember which one was the last), I found Colony to be far superior. Having said that though if the makers of Colony also intended dragging the story out endlessly then maybe cancellation was a better option.
At the very least some sort of story should have concluded even if it resulted in the invaders winning in the end.
In any case, from what I've seen so far midway through season 2, Colony would have gotten a 10 from me. The only reason I've taken one star off is because of the absolute morons who decided to cancel Colony.
They should all be sent to The Factory.

Colony has a fairly original premise. The characters are at times a bit hard to stomach, but overall it's a pleasant watching experience. I found it well worth sitting through an at times annoying first season just to get through to season 2, which is much more interesting. The character development in season 2 has been quite impressive and they are now much more acceptable heroes and anti-heroes. Worth watching.
What a bunch of morons to cancel this series without some kind of ending. Will NEVER start a series again by USA

Once again, an outstanding series gets cancelled because it doesn't make social issues, political messages, and pc, as the centre of each episode. All they offered was good sci fi and entertainment lol
It's unbelievable that agenda-driven series like Flash, Arrow, Cloak and Dagger, Impulse, Black Lightning, et al, lower rated and identically social j w motivated, keep going, when the best "just entertainment" series like Colony and The Expanse get cancelled in their early development.
Too bad there's no Colony books to continue the adventure.

From multiple sources, the USA Network has cancelled Colony. A really good SciFi show, that deserved a proper ending...rather than leaving us hanging.
After this treatment of the viewer by USA Network, will anyone ever start to watch a new series of theirs again???? Fans deserve at least a 2 hour real finale for closure. Or...revive it on the SyFy Network.
I continue to be disgusted with the manipulating self-serving liberal media.

One of the best SciFi shows I've ever seen. Immersive, distopian world, great story, awesome characters, super addictive - I rarely get a show that I watch until 5 AM (which costed me greatly at work). What USA Network did was terrible, show would made a legendary 5 seasons saga, as it is - unfortunately remains unfinished and plot seem "cut in the middle", thus 9 not 10.
Probably would rate it a bit higher if not for the unfinished last season...Really unfair to people...Anyway, reasonable time killer, if nothing left to watch...

Loved this. It's allied to 'V' in some ways but I really like the depth of the human deception and the whole, 'who's on what side' vibe. I thought I would be annoyed by having such little interaction from the host aliens but actually, the human behaviours and dialogue was enough to keep these gripping, interesting and a change from some of the typical science fiction storylines.
There's some real human nature stuff in here too and Proxy Snyder is, personally, I feel one of the best and most complex characters. You are constantly left wondering about him.
I'm amazed they haven't moved on with a series 4...and hope the likes of Netflix perhaps see's a route to take us to the next stage of the story...arguably, the most enlightening and a chance to get to know the 'hosts' and their enemies, alongside seeing how humans fair in the battle ahead.

We watch the show and want to know the end.
The show was canceled the creators did not even bothered to create an ending for the show, abruptly ending it. That's just wrong and direspectful to the viewers who for 3 years wanted to find out what happened/what will happen.
They had plenty of time to do so but decided to just cancel it. Ouch!

A very good show, well written with interesting characters. Seems strange a network would cancel this out of the blue with no story resolution, but renew all the other rubbish out there.
Here's hoping Amazon, Netflix or someone will pick it up. #SaveColony

Please please please bring this show back!! I was always on the edge of my seat. And to end it right when the war was finally starting!! It's all built up to this moment. Please at least give us closure. The Colony was a tremendous show. Please bring it back!!

I have really enjoyed Colony. It's so gripping, interesting and unique. I liked the concept of the "host" alien invader whom remain extremely mysterious for the most part.
I enjoyed all the characters. Alan Snyder was probably my favourite. He's such a good character and the actor played him really well. He was not the 2 dimensional weedy leader I was expecting.
I was moved by the struggle the Bowman family went through to protect their family and each other.
I genuinely believe it has been so underrated and overlooked, and it's a shame that they cancelled the show because it was so interesting.

Though I didn't want it canceled, it is still another series that begins well, but loses its way through bad writing decisions. That third season just muddled about, and the result was loss of audience and then cancellation. When will writers learn that when they have a good premise, great characters, good actors and directors-stay with the narrative that is working and develop it. What a pity they didn't.

Why in the hell did you just cancel this show? It was one of the best on tv. That was no finale! It wasn't over. There could be so much more. Who are the idiots that decide what should be seen and what shouldn't? So you think the trumpies want to see " this is us"? One of the stupidest boring shows on tv.
They don't CARE how much YOU liked it, or if you're angry with no ending either. It wasn't making the dollars they needed, and it got scrapped. End of story.

This series doesn't only include sci fi but also it deals with human relations like what a family can do to protect itself or what sacrifices a human can make. There is both action and emotion in it. Unfortunately, This is an unfinished story. I hope there will be new episodes.

At first I wasn't sold on the show. The first episode was kind of slow, and I hate to say it, but written kind of poorly. I will give it some slack because they had to fit a lot in just 40+ minutes. I figured I would a few more episodes before I gave up and I'm glad I did. The show has really picked up its pace and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season, I just really hope they don't cancel the show, because I would like to see what happens. I absolutely hate starting a series that does not finish or at least give us some hints as to what is going on. I will continue to watch until the last episode of the season and will update my review once I have a more knowledge.
I loved this series. But is has no ending. They cancelled this series without giving it a good or even passable ending. Therefore i cannot recommend this series at all.
