What a finale!
bensonmum227 June 2017
Instead of my usual poorly written plot summary, I'm going to go with the one on IMDb for this episode - "The man intent on killing Phryne's father escapes form the hospital on the same night that a prominent scientist is murdered. As Phryne and Jack race the clock to save Baron Fisher, Hugh and Dot make final wedding preparations."

What a finale! If this is truly the end of Miss Fisher and there is never another new episode, I'm as happy about it as I possibly could be. Death Do Us Part wraps-up things as nicely as I could have hoped. Even though I want more, at least this episode provides some degree of closure. And what about that final scene with Phryne and Jack! I refuse to go into detail and spoil things. I'll just say that it's perfect. My 9/10 rating would have most likely been the usual 8/10 if it weren't for that final scene. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Death Do Us Part has a couple of other big pluses. First, as with Death at the Grand, we know who the killer is (it's the same dude), so there's no mystery there. However, the killer's brutality and total disregard for human life is quite shocking. He's not the "polite" killer you find in most episodes. Second, Death Do Us Part as more than its share of action. With a couple of murders, the Baron taken hostage, Dot hiding from the killer under a table, and Father O'Leary in a fistfight, it's a full episode.

A final plus has to be the Hugh / Dot wedding. I don't consider this much of a spoiler because we all knew it was coming. I'm just glad they squeezed it in here instead of waiting for the (doubtful) fourth season. As I so often say when writing about Miss Fisher, it's good stuff!

Overall, I consider Death Do Us Part as one of the two or three best episodes of the entire series. A strong 9/10 from me.

Is having family worse than having enemies?
pensman3 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Is Phryne's father a deceitful man? Who is that man in the hospital who is intent on killing the Baron? And who killed Quentin Tode just after he won a science award? Maybe a glowing Martian as the grounds keeper claims. But Osman Efendi, the runner up in the competition, is now in line for receiving the $50,000 prize so he is a suspect. Or was it Father O'Leary who beat up Tode for his statement there is no God. And then Baron Fisher adds to the mix by drugging his guards so he can escape from his daughter's house whereby he is immediately captured by the man professed to be his enemy; a man Efendi calls Denizci. Or just maybe it's nothing but a family affair after all. Oh, and then is it possible God invented the miracle of science? Well if this episode is it then there will be a lot of unhappy fans including me.

A magnificent series finale to Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries!

After watching all 3 series of this wonderful show! Here's my spoiler-free review of the series finale of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries Death Do Us Part! As usual, I'll be talking about my thoughts, memories of watching the movie with my Mum during the covid crisis and my conclusion/rating! They filmed this show in Australia & even cast Australian actors/actresses! My favourite character is Detective Inspector Jack Robinson cuz he's so cool and the guy who plays him Nathan Page is born in Perth here in Western Australia! It's been 3 years since the film Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears It's not as good as the series but still fun! Overall this was an incredible show to watch on Netflix from beginning to end, has a happy ending & finishes the Series well! That's why I'm giving this finale an 8/10! Goodbye, Miss Fisher, I'll miss you! :'(
