New Stuff with Amazing Graphics
Lawsonk-123 December 2014
A lot of what I see gives me things to think about. Often I'll ponder and forget, but this series is the penultimate of the futuristic sky. Imagine you or your ancestors fighting in the civil war, when all of a sudden an airship flies over and scouts your troops. Imagine the wonder that some time in the future a commander dreamt of the ability to get a different view. Now the idea of flying is a non-sequitur, it just is and who would think it's not possible? Now project 200 years from now when they look back and say that such-n-such (you) gave us the first inkling that this-or-that was possible. Do we dream because of vanity or is dreaming the luxury we provide in our society? I think that if this series continues the way of episode one on black-holes (and their opposite) dreamers will want to tackle the tough foundational exercises of physics, calculus, etc. Highly recommended...now get out there and dream or at least inspire a dreamer. Jingle Bells 2014

Should watch. Fascinating

I know its probably wrong but theories are too good to not be given such a platform. Lat them think and show us. One day at least one will be proved

painful to watch

The subjects in the series are great topics but the overuse of animation and sound effects as well as the continuous repetition of Buzz words make this series unwatchable.

I get the impression that Producers thought unless they fill every 10 second block with some sort of effect, our tiny attention spans will not be able to cope.

There is also only rudimentary facts offered as I think they don't want to confuse us with details, the very reason we want to watch this type of show! It is such a shame this trend in American cable science shows to dumb everything down. Give audiences more credit please.

Interesting content in horrible wrapper
EskeRahn19 October 2017
It is really difficult to give a fair rating to this series...

The scientific cosmological content is interesting in all 6 episodes.

But as others have pointed out it is presented in a very annoying US typical dumb-down style. And to make all this flash and bang worse it is with a LOT of repetitions (perhaps intended for return from commercial breaks?) and an EXTREMELY irritating voice, that is so far from what could be expected from a serious science series!!

I'm not saying that a narrator has to be 'boring', but this is more like a salesman with a hot dog stand on a street corner trying to grab attention than someone offering serious narration! A guy like Brian Cox do this job so extremely much better, with a high level of seriousness, and still with a lot of spirit and appeal.

So the overall impression is that if you stand the horrible wrapping you will get interesting information, but each episode could easily have been cut to half, removing all the flashing and repetitions.

Narrator
Genni1224 December 2014
This review is regarding the series, 'Strip the Cosmos'. Unfortunately, I find the narrators voice to be tremendously alarming and uncomfortable to listen to. I have tried watching the series several different times but always end up having to turn it off. I am very frustrated by this because I love watching these types of shows and always learn a lot from them. The narrators voice is extremely rough and loud. Words are over exaggerated / emphasized and does not sound even close to natural by any means. I wonder if any other viewers are experiencing the same issue? Please consider another narrator for future shows!!

Thank you.

Scientifically mediocre at best

The science presented here is at the tabloid journalism level. Very limited, often partial or false (in the sense that only the sensational info is given, without any explanations or nuance, or more global view). As mentioned by others, the narrator tone adds to this surface only description.

The visuals are cool though, although going too much to the extreme.

My advice: find the good old Carl Sagan Cosmos series if you want a TV series, read some books or watch some YouTube science channel (like from Sabine Hossenfelder for example), but avoid this one.

German Scientist
Bladerunner209926 August 2021
I enjoyed the show. The only akward part was how that one German scientist tried to deliver soundbites which were supposed to sound as exciting as those of his American colleagues and just ended up speaking in this dramatically contrived fashion. I guess German scientists are just not made for television. I cringe whenever he comes on.
