Since they are all dangerous, they have now been put in a position of redemption. This episode has all the old Star Trek stuff: cloaking devices, warp speed, etc. It also has the business where five people can kill off an army and not get an injury. We are asked to accept the abilities of these characters even though they don't have a clue how they got them. Suffice it to say, they will make new discoveries and move into more adventures. It's more combat SciFi which wears thin after a while.
