Generic and formulaic

I gave it a 5 because I think a show or movie starts at five. From there it either goes up or down.

On the down side this is the cheap Flash animation style that Teen Titans Go uses. Rainbow has no sense of self preservation. Sh sounds like a 45 executive trying to be an 8 year old by spouting every buzz word in the book. There is never really a time to reflect on what you just watched. This is fast fluff.

On the positive the animation is decent. The colors and character models are very reminiscent to the originals. To me though, the limbs look and movements more stretched out like an early teen.

If you want a poor man's version of My Little Pony this is for you. Nothing really offensive but now real substance. BTW: Rainbow Brite is the equivalent of Pinky Pie in the current MLP.

An Honest Review

OK, I wasn't a fan of the 80s cartoon when I was a kid...because I thought defending color was stupid, as was a villain that wanted to turn everything Black and White. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

But at least in the 80s it still looked good. This just looks cheap. The colors are good (because it is a big part of the plot) but it looks like the cheap art that a junior high kid that thinks he can draw anime does in his folder while he's board during class...

...and it maintains that quality throughout.

And while it is working hard to be poorly animated, the story is somehow worse
