Phil finally agrees to marry Carol even though he thinks it's rather silly, until he suddenly runs into the beautiful, and unattached, Melissa.

The presence of another woman is going to throw Phil's newfound world view for a spin: it's the first real test for our surrogate Adam and Eve characters, the tugs of normal civilization threatening to beat the both of them down into the lesser people they were – and continues The Last Man on Earth on this interesting path of character exploration through comedy, at what happens when two slightly obnoxious, self- serving human beings find themselves desperately seeking out the company of another, even if it's somebody we don't necessary like. There will always be things (events, personality traits, shared experiences) that bring us together as human beings, even if we don't necessary like each other. As Phil says, it's better to eat rotten raisin balls with another human being, then suffer through the worst moments of life alone.

Warning: Spoilers
The Last Man on Earth's third episode starts where the last episode ended. Phil and Carol are planning their wedding because Carol refuses to repopulate the Earth unless Phil marries her. The jokes still seem relatively minor and I think they just need to introduce more characters in order for the show to be funnier. I just can't find anyone really laughing out loud at this show yet. I really hope this show grows on me because I want to like it so bad! One of the things makes me happy is that we finally get an appearance from January Jones, although just a short one. I really looking forward to seeing more of her in the series.

This shows seems to have more awkward humour than I expected because of the lack of characters. I'll keep going for a few more episodes.
