Kinda nice I guess..?
Cqef2 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Well it certainly isn't a masterpiece, that's for sure (and doesn't seem to pretend to look like one anyway), but it has its moments nonetheless.

Story-wise, you watched the love-triangle-drama-with-a-sicko-in-the-lot stuff countless times already if you're familiar with TV movies, but what is done right is the pacing, as well as the dramatic tension build-up (even if predictable from who knows how far away).

But what caught my attention was the main character actually. Whatever happened, he always kept a cool head and carefully proceeded to solve the mess he fell into. Normally you're used to main characters going nuts and messing everything up at some point and being saved by some deus-ex-machina BS too often incarnated by the police. But this time it's different: (spoiler incoming) everything went just according to keikaku (TL note: keikaku is Japanese for "plan").

Main character planned his retaliation over the sicko with his capable support character fellas and that's it, they only called the cops once the sicko was carefully and cleanly neutralised. Even the neutralising itself was good, without any smudge: main chara was in a tight spot and support character#2 (support character#1 was out at the time) intelligently sneaked behind and bashed the sicko's hand with some cane to make her drop her gun and that's it, not a single shot fired, clean. Like I said, normally you get a bloodbath in this kind of situation because the characters are dumb as hell not thinking about the consequences. It really is heartwarming to finally have clever characters, I'm telling you.

Well anyway, there are better ways to kill some time like playing actual good video games, and watching crappy TV movies shouldn't be your main hobby for your own sanity, but oh well, suit yourselves.

Interior Motives
wes-connors11 July 2016
As the opening credits roll, attractive but incredibly shrill blonde businesswoman Adrienne Frantz (as Simone Matthews) tells off an old boyfriend. She gets in her limo and agrees to interview someone for a big promotion. The new man turns out to be handsome and muscular blond Jon Cor (as Brandon Moore). His good looks and beautifully trimmed facial hair immediately arouse Ms. Frantz. The job is his, and then some. This means Mr. Cor must carry on a "long distance relationship" with girlfriend Ashley Leggat (as Jensyn Bannet), a student in New York...

Accepting the lucrative job offer, Cor finds his Portland, Oregon hotel accommodations have been mysteriously canceled. Responsible for the mix-up, boss-woman Frantz invites him to stay at her place. She's obviously interested in giving her sheets a work-out. Frantz adopts a dog named "Bentley" to appear more lovable, but Cor won't bite. Alas, her doggy style doesn't get Cor into bed, so Frantz decides to work on his loyalty to girlfriend Leggat...

Director Curtis Crawford and writer Christine Conradt do a lot of these theme movies for the "Lifetime" channel, with this one being another in the network's "The Perfect…" series. It fits the required formula and gets the job done. Frantz is perfect as the seemingly psycho female. She would send most men running for the hills, after an initial attraction. Of course, Cor is very good looking, but not bright enough to realize Frantz' deceptions. The troubling thing is Cor not guessing "Bentley" is a new arrival. He's too dumb and the predictable story never catches fire...

At one point, we meet Frantz' younger brother Jonathan Koensgen (as Cole Matthews). The role is very well played and it seems like the story will become more interesting. Their mother (Deborah Grover) is also intriguing, but she is seen much too briefly. These relatives help characterize and humanize Franz' "Simone". While successful, they are not fully utilized (or, possibly, more involvement in the original story was cut).

**** The Perfect Girlfriend (7/30/2015) Curtis Crawford ~ Adrienne Frantz, Jon Cor, Ashley Leggat, Scott Bailey

How dumb can one guy be?
Ed-Shullivan17 September 2020
Well I will tell you, I was one dumb guy who watched this entire meaningless made for TV drama/suspense which was not even worthy of staying on late at night to put you to sleep. It was really that bad.

As for the male star of this garbage, actor Jon Cor plays a really dumb guy who leaves his attractive girlfriend to land a new job out of state only to be wined and dined by his recruiter who is a whack job.

Yes, it's another love triangle with a predictable ending.

Boring as heck.

I give it a lowly 1 out of 10 IMDB rating.

Seriously.,....what was I thinking?
cyrenaica29 August 2015
While watching a series of movies on the movie network and this was the next one in line. Within the first 5 minutes, I knew what was coming, I should have turned it off then.

The movie features a predictable theme, but in the process of laying out the plot, there was some serious issues. Being an evilly coerced love triangle, there are three main characters. None of the characters get very well developed unfortunately and fall into the same trap you see in a love triangle. This is what hurts the movie in my opinion. You know what is going to happen, and you keep hoping that one of the characters will do something interesting to keep you interested....but by the end of the movie you are still waiting for that something to interesting to happen, and realize you wasted 90 minutes watching a movie you've seen before.

The acting, while not great, isn't bad, they just had a bad storyline to act to, something that seems to happen to Curtis Crawford movies.

Plausible story plus like the wacko

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this thriller. A fairly common occurrence these days where a guy moves for his job across country and a helpful woman in his company seizes the opportunity to break up him and his medical student girlfriend. The psycho actually is quite sympathetic in some ways and the actress does just the right amount of comically repulsive behaviour and controlling demands while furthering his career. Reminds a bit of Bette Midler physically. It's good the way there isn't a lot of violence, it shows you can have a good thriller without a high body count. It's actually quite realistic and could happen in real life. The conclusion is plausible and satisfying too. No need to go over the top.

Worth a watch.

Warning: Spoilers
Better than average Lifetime film. It's basically a story of a very sick, disturbed woman who is as manipulative as they come.

Anyone notice that the guy played by Jon Cor looks like Ben Affleck in certain scenes?

As stated, this woman is as sick as they come. It's amazing that with all she carries on, she is able to hold down such an important job in the advertising industry, and only at picture's end do we discover that she is a lawyer.

It appears that she is out to start relationships with men only to destroy them. Could this be due to the fact that her father walked out on her, her mother and brother years before? Did she have too much on her plate with an emotionally unbalanced mother and intellectually challenged brother?

Anyway, she would resort to anything to get her way- lying, interference on the internet, destroying the guy's relationship with his girlfriend back in New York. The head of the firm must have been out to lunch with all this going on.

And the dumb of the year award goes to...

Warning: Spoilers
I agree. How dumb can a guy be? Ambition and greed are the options the guy takes over his beautiful loving girlfriend. So he moves out of state to his new job and new boss who is of course a femme fatale and slowly dismantles his life with him of course being totally oblivious to what is happening. I mean really how dumb can one be to simply accept everything that is happening to him? He quickly beleives the texts from his girlfriend who breaks up with him and every time he tries calling her he cannot get through. Any normal guy would drop everything and go back to try and sort things out with his girlfriend. Even psycho Simone said it: "if you really loved her you wouldn't give up tgat easy". But what does this dum-dum do? He accepts it point blank and is seduced by his femme fatale boss with no resistance!!!!

The warning bells were there from the get go. Upon arriving he finds out the room he booked in a hotel has been cancelled. Femme fatale immediately offers him a room saying she needs a housesitter anyway because she has to go out fo town on business. Then she says that her trip has been postponed till the end of the month, so on and so forth.

The whole concept was crap. The acting was crap. The only one with a semblance of a decent acting was. Ashley Leggat, who in sptie of being suggested by her best friend to move on and start a new relationship with someone, refuses to do so. And it is actually her who goes to her boyfriend to find out once and for all what's going on. Jon Cor was stupid to take on this role.

Finally I did not like the happy ending! Jensyn should have dumped his a$$! After all how can you ever trust your man again since he is so dumb and gullible?!

Femme Fatale Film is a Winner!
lavatch12 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"The Perfect Girlfriend" hit all the right notes as a satirical femme fatale drama. From start to finish, there was a tongue-in-cheek approach with some snappy lines of dialogue and first-rate performances.

Adrienne Frantz shines in the role of Simone Matthews, a devious schemer and super control freak when it comes to her relationships with men. There is one amazing scene where Simone has a meltdown for the ages as she is showing Brandon Moore the door to her home.

As Brandon, Jon Cor is the perfect foil as the naive underling with some genuine backbone when it finally comes time to stand up to Simone. Due to Brandon's character, the film could almost be re-titled "The Perfect Gentleman."

But my favorite character was Trevor Wilkins, Brandon's savvy co-worker with creative insights into how to get back at Simone after she makes Brandon's life a living nightmare. As played by Scott Bailey, Trevor had some great one-liners and the devious mind to rise to the level of Simone's.

Another great touch on the part of the filmmakers was the family of Simone that included a mentally challenged brother who lived off of vampire and zombie stories and a mean-spirited mother who recognized Simone for what she was: a climber and an exploiter who finally learns the lesson that "what goes around comes around."
