Best enjoyed in a light mood with many cocktails
pomeu-638502 October 2015
I saw this movie at its "world premiere" in Denver in October 2015. The cast and crew were on hand to talk about it before and after. This review is spoiler free because there is very little to spoil.

The film is a quick 80 min. So quick that it feels rushed, not much thought was put into the most crucial scenes. The actors said it took 3 weeks to shoot, 12 hours a day, but it felt more like they had banged it out in a few days. Things happen very suddenly and with very little weight or consequence. I'm guessing that's due to the very low budget. Most of the action occurs off-screen, something the crew claims to be intentional, but I suspect it was also the effect of limited funds and even more limited imagination, since there are plenty of low-budget films who managed way more creative solutions in the face of scarce financing.

There are, to be fair, a few really funny moments, but on the whole the entire script is too ludicrous to take even halfway seriously. If somebody invites you to see this film, bring a bottle of booze and settle in. You're in for a night of amateurish acting and terrible puns. These lambs may have teeth, but they're small and dull.

It had potential but...
khakucoon22 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I saw it at a film festival and it was the film I was looking forward to the most since I'm into horror films, and the few reviews here seemed very positive and rating is quite high - but it was a great disappointment to be honest. There were massive plot holes. Like the whole content would have happened in a parallel universe, where nobody notices anything weird. The priest tied on the car, and set on fire, how come no one noticed?? What about security cameras? The girls walking around almost naked and covered in blood, and again, no one notices. How could they always have fresh make up on and their hair never looked oily after being locked in there for god knows how long? How did they get away with all that? Why didn't they make a big scandal out of it afterwards to warn others and close the farm business? How did they immediately found the homes of these guys and got in there? Before they didn't have any brains and suddenly they got so fearless and smart? These were only some of the questions that popped into my head. Horror is a very difficult genre to make since you have to make it look logical, this one was like a teenage dystopian fairytale. Also the characters lacked depth, acting was extremely bad - everyone knew right away who was the psycho.

Thrilleresque
shawnblackman24 September 2016
Two young ladies sign up to work at an organic farm in New York for a month with the plan to do some shopping while there. Once they arrive two guys pickup them up where they are then drugged and taken to shipping containers placed in the woods one red and one blue. Each container has a bed and a lamp.

The reason they are there is revealed when customers start showing up. The girls eventually get away with revenge on their mind. Now the film starts.

The film zips along at a good speed with some elements from Thriller (1974) and a few others but the film is not bad. These chicks kick ass. At one point they are singing a song together as they drive a truck to the next revenge kill.

Some parts are violent but the director is not going for gross outs. Worth a watch.

Mediocre at best
Jam_Man_UK19 November 2016
Budget flick.

Lacking in any real plot.

Acting is poor, script is poor.

These revenge movies fail completely if you don't create characters you empathise with.

Not sure what the movies is trying to be, it avoids the gore so isn't a horror, no tension so not a thriller.

Typical movie on IMDb though, full of people rating it as if its a modern day classic.

Don't know what these fake reviews are meant to achieve.

Its a poor film and no fake reviews are going to hide that.

Tamest revenge movie ever.
Spookylicious20 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This movie follows the revenge formula but without the shock, without the transition from inocent victim to furious predator, without the gore.

It starts with an useless intro that has nothing to do with the movie. The main characters are unlickable. The dialogues are stupid. The acting so-so towards bad. I don't like prolongued torture/rape scenes, but in this genre you need some shock to sympathise with the victim, to root for their decision to be bruthal with jer abusers. Here everything is off camera. Same with the kills towards the abusers. Everything of camera.

And the worst is that when they escape they go from crying victims to cheerful joyful revengers cracking jokes with whichother.

Where's the furious rage? The payoff?

And the uncle plays a useless TAKEN role of paranoid fbi agent that notices they may be in danger and ends up tied to a chair with a thin cord.

And in one scene they drive besides other cars draging the towns priest chained to the car. And no one notices.

Honestly, don't waste your time with this movie.

Lambs Have Teeth but this movie needs Help
NYAmicas15 October 2017
I found this on Amazon and it appeared to be promising which should have been my first clue that something was awry given that I discovered it on Amazon. As I said it started promising and the acting wasn't obviously awful and the movie low budget......at first. When things turn for the worse for the two protagonists of the movie it is like the film, the actors, the writers, everyone just gave up and the movie disintegrated into a -D list type of movie.

At no point in time did I feel like the girls were in any sort of danger. The movie attempted to show their abuse at the hands of their attackers but their lack of tears, grief and their fresh out the salon hairstyles did not give off an air of despair. A situation that would have anyone in pure panic has them seemingly detached and bored as they deliver their lines like they are doing a reading. Once they are on the path of their "revenge" the movie rushes along and loses any sense of logical semblance and because it is done so poorly you really just don't care.

4/10 and that is being extremely generous.

Warning: Spoilers
This film is a poor entry into the genre of revenge films. It is a pale imitation of films such as "Last House on the Left", "I Spit On Your Grave", and my personal favorite, "Thriller-A Cruel Picture/They Call Her One-Eye". The story in this film is nothing new. The acting is not good, especially our two main characters. They are terrible. Now generally, in a film of this caliber, your main selling point is your violence, gore, and creativity of kills. We get none of it. The violence is mostly off camera as is the gore. And the creativity...again, nothing new. The shopping montage was incredibly painful and obnoxious. The pacing was way out of whack. And the director/editor seemed to love jump cuts because they were overused to epic proportions. The music seemed really out of place and had the "Hey my friend's band is going to score the movie for free with their tracks" feeling to it. My final thought is this...make your heroes likable. In all the other films, you feel bad for the victims. You can generally empathize with their naivete, gullibility, etc. These two girls, on the other hand, were just flat out irritating and unlikeable and I found myself rooting for all the wrong people to win.

Half terribly bleak, half imperfect fun
I_Ailurophile31 October 2021
It's a very familiar premise, in this case flavored with a dash of Liam Neeson's first 'Taken.' And, well - between that familiarity and that garnish, it's safe to say any given viewer will know in no small part just what to expect. I can't say it's a pleasant watch, but filmmaker Terry Miles at least has the good taste to refrain from showing the full extent of the violence exacted upon the protagonists - less depiction, more suggestion. Fewer restraints are employed when it comes to depictions of the women's vengeance, and gratifyingly so - revenge is ever so sweet. Yet surprisingly, for all the blood that's spilled, still the full grisly brunt is withheld from our sight.

In place of utmost crimson and viscera, instead there a delightful playfulness in the second length. I wouldn't go so far as to say 'Even lambs have teeth' becomes a horror-comedy, but it's unquestionably self-aware, and wants to ensure the audience has a good time after subjecting us to distinctly unpalatable content initially. So wholly does the movie lean into that slant that the absolute, incredulous neatness with which the course of events transpires - all but echoing the storytelling approach of fairy tales in omitting non-primary elements from the story - seems purely intentional. It's a little bit ham-handed, sure, but to the point of enjoyment, not disbelief.

Blood effects look good, and technical craft in general is fine, including some commendable camerawork. The cast is suitable, and scene writing and execution are swell. The overall narrative is written well and completely, and ably washes over the unsavory facets of the plot with the amusing bits to help clinch a lasting impression of welcome diversion instead of unseemly (muted) exploitation. Any viewer hoping for a more abjectly thrilling experience may be put out, but if you're open to the feature's style, and its wish to only entertain, then you'll be in for a somewhat refreshing take on the sub-genre of torture-heavy bloodbaths that have proliferated in recent years. Never wholly captivating, but engaging all the same - and minding substantial content warnings for abduction, sexual assault, and general violence - 'Even lambs have teeth' is fairly worthwhile if you come across it.

false reviewers
adamcarlton8 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Clearly multiple false reviews have been submitted for this movie so let me give you a genuine one after sitting through this.

So movie opens with some teenagers screwing around as they do, doing some drugs blah blah blah. They get high and we get opening credits. Scene has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the movie and none of the characters in this scene beside the 2 lead females are in the remainder of the film. So moving on these girls are headed to some farm so they can work and earn money to go to new york for a shopping trip? They wind up making the clearly terrible decision to catch a ride with 2 stranger dudes to this farm as opposed to getting their scheduled bus and wind up getting drugged, kidnapped and thus begins their ordeal and they supposedly get raped and tortured (but you wouldn't know for sure because the movie fades to black anytime anything bad happens so basically everything is suggested ) and we watch as they make their miraculous escape and carry out their revenge.

So now that i've summarised the terrible paper-thin plot lets talk about the acting. To cut it short, some of it was OK the rest was truly shake-your-head terrible. The script was dumb as hell and full of holes and there was at least half a dozen moments where i sat there wondering if i should just switch off or grit and bear the rest of the movie. The 2 leads did OK with what they had and that's why I'm not completely down rating this movie. The terrible script puts them in stupid situations and they make the best of it (for the most part) but sometimes they say things or do things that just make you think "what the F. Really?"

shame cos it did show potential but it was one of the poorest most predictable horror movies i've ever seen. Just a much weaker version of i spit on your grave / last house on the left. Go watch those instead or something like martyrs (original), frontiers, inside, switchblade romance, or any genuinely solid horror movie.

3/10.

I Spit on your Grave meets captivity
danteasdale45810 August 2018
I enjoyed the movie for what it was: 2 chicks get kidnapped and put inside crates outside, get sexually molested for days, manage to escape and then get revenge on their evil doers. Nothing more, nothing less. However a unique little addition to it was their uncle who came to the town to try and find them. This added some humor to the film.

I'd classify it as a very dark comedy. It wasn't really funny until they escape and then it turns into a bloodbath and bad jokes.

The movie is far from original, but has a lot to be enjoyed about it. I'd say if you enjoyed I Spit On Your Grave, you'll enjoy this film.

Yes ISOYG is veru vulgar and pretty much a niche genre.

Same plot, different movie
nikkicameron18 January 2019
This movie plot has been done so many times and this film does not have any new tales on the old ones. Don't fix what isn't broken. The second half of this film also is so odd, you feel something happened and you missed it for the characters to seem like completely new characters so quickly. I will commend the special effects for the gory scenes but overall, not recommended.

Fun revenge movie
tlawson092413 March 2019
People are so critical & act as if the are gurus for entertaining horror revenge movies. I've watched every type of horror, thriller & revenge type movies. This one was the typical escape revenge movie, but come on that's the freaking point. It's a mix of I spit on you're grave type of scenario which I wish they would have played out the revenge portions to each person a little longer like all 3 of those movies did. If you didn't like those 3 movies then don't watch this one because you will complain just as much about this movie as those. I just wish people would stop acting like they are the Roger Ebert of film critics for every genre of horror and/or thriller movies. Overall it was as expected and great.

Offers some watchable entertainment.
RatedVforVinny15 January 2019
'Even Lambs have Teeth', is like a film of two halves. The first plays out like a teen 'Taken' movie (with a very serious vibe) and the second is like a revenge thriller, but much in the same vein as 'I Spit on Your Grave'. The only difference is it seems to change, being played for laughs (though the deaths are suitably graphic). For me the greatest strength, lies in a a whole host of zany, baddie characters. Seek it out, if you must.

I've seen better, but I've seen a lot and I mean A LOT worse. You get what you clicked to watch. If you don't expect much you'll find it amusing. On a scale of match stick fire to full on dumpster fire- I'd give it an accidentally catching your favorite barbie's hair on fire.

Unoriginal and poorly edited, but not all bad
grantss31 December 2016
Two young women, Sloane and Katie, head out to rural America to work on an eco farm. They need the money so they can go on a shopping holiday to New York. They are offered a ride to the farm by some friendly local young men. Turns out the men's intentions aren't all friendly and they are soon held prisoner by them. They escape and plan their revenge. Meanwhile, the uncle of one of the girls, an FBI detective, suspects something is wrong and comes looking for them.

Pretty much your standard kidnapped captive-gets-revenge movie, a la I Spit On Your Grave, except this time there's two captives. Set up is good though and the movie moves along at a very good pace.

The pace is maybe too fast though. Editing is a bit choppy and weird, meaning you are suddenly fast-forwarded (figuratively) through a scene when a slower pace would have prevented confusion.

Some contrivances too which ruin the plot somewhat. The movie had a grittiness to start off with but there were too many outs in the plot development to sustain that.

Some good action scenes though and the revenge is sweet. Never dull.

This movie should've been called The Plot Hole of Cheese
jenniferlynn-4955523 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really wanted to like this movie but it was a let down and I love a good revenge movie. The first half made the revenge half unsatisfying. I don't need to see graphic rape and torture but every scene was off camera. You need to feel what they went through so you can enjoy the revenge. That was a problem, on top of the bad acting, I mean it was bad. The plot holes were all through out the movie. Was everyone in this small farm town asleep, that they didn't notice this "rare" truck being driven around by two girls covered in blood? One of which was wearing underwear. You're telling me these hick bafoons were running a sex trafficking ring, that brought in enough cash, where each bad guy had 100,000 hidden in cookie jars or tool boxes? They left there prints everywhere they went but all of a sudden, they set up a murder suicide, with help of Dexter and the suicide was 2 shots in the head.... hhhmmm.... just in case the first bullet to the brain doesn't work here's one more. Want to make sure im dead. The Uncle was the worst FBI agent I have ever scene. Tied up to chair with something that looked as strong as ribbon, by a moron sherrif. Like I said I wanted to like this but really?

Well..
ts-00005 April 2023
Didn't know really how to take this movie, was it meant as a parody on horror?

Had a low-budget feel, that was trying to be higher quality.

It was cast decent enough, but feel perhaps the script or directions given cheapened it.. It had poor cinematography or light in parts, don't even get me started on the music.

Also how these two inexperienced females to life, can go from victims to so-called smart & powerful females overtaking everyone is laughable.

Think of.. I Spit On Your Grave but PG-13 version, with several actors from Lifetime to Hallmark channel.. Does that give a better picture?

Was clichéd from the cop being involved,to general predictability overall.

Is this really something to watch? Sure for many hmmm type moments, where you just don't know to laugh or what.

Not on my rewatch list, but maybe you will enjoy it more.

So much better after second viewing
soggydeadgirl26 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
So we have two girls, taking time off between college and grad school, take jobs on an organic farm out near the middle of nowhere Washington. While in town awaiting the bus to the farm the girls meet a couple of guys. After a bit of flirting they are getting in the truck headed to the farm, or are they. No, these guys, good looking, charming are psychopathic sadists. The girls are drugged and chained in ISO containers. Awakening to the chains and captivity is immediately followed by johns who come to rape and torture the girls. I have to give the filmmakers credit, we do not have to suffer the graphic torture, we do see a couple shots, then music and screaming activates our imaginations.

After a while the girls escape. They run directly to town in the dead sheriff's car to buy tools to end this sex trafficking cult completely, once and for all.

All in all, I liked this movie so much better this time than when I watched it several months ago

low budget exploitation film
SnoopyStyle6 December 2019
In a park, six friends play a game where they take a random pill. Katie (Tiera Skovbye) is reluctant but Sloane (Kirsten Prout) talks her into it. The two best friends are headed to work on an organic farm. They get a ride from a couple of cute guys who take them to a second location.

The first half is basic sexploitation. The second half is revenge porn crossed with Home Alone. This is a low budget production. I am surprised that the two leads are actual actresses. This seems cheaper than that. The first half is cringe-worthy but at least, the story is functional. The directing is trash but everyone else is trying to rise above its low level production. The second half suffers much more from bad writing. It's missing little connective pick ups to smooth over the bad script. Whether stealing the keys or the cop car, the movie needs to show the mechanics of the process. They are able to buy a whole Home Depot to build improvised weapons but they just can't buy pants. They can't even wash their faces since they're busy revenging. Of course, they need to show their butts while raising their kill count. It's a whole look for revenge porn 101. Don't get me wrong. I love biting the guy's neck off. After that, it's a long downward slide.

Beyond Dull
mcjensen-0592430 August 2019
Too much of the action left to the imagination. Extremely bad dialogue and while the acting wasn't bad, it was never elevated beyond mediocre. Sure, the girls were extremely pretty! But it wasn't enough to save this. A few good moments in a laughably horrible movie. And the soundtrack was completely nonsensical. It had no role in complementing the on screen activity at all. Absurdly distracting.

Really satisfying
yukontanny9 September 2021
Come on people! What's with the negativity? This movie is a budget friendly locally made movie, not a ridiculous overpriced Hollywood product.

It reminds me of the late night flix you'd watch after your parents went to bed because you were too young. This movie was entertaining to watch and I had satisfaction for the main characters at the end. Do you ever fantasize about what you'd do to all the bullies who ever hurt you? Of course! Ever wonder what it'd be like to follow through? Watch this movie.

I'm not sure what I think of this movie
capelladewdrop15 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It started of pretty sound, two spoiled brats who use expressions like "OMG" and "BFF" get kidnapped. However, unfortunately for the kidnappers, one of the girls Father is a super paranoid FBI agent and he demands that she reply to her texts with a different word every day ie Apple the first day then something beginning with B the next day.

The kidnappers make the mistake of replying to the text on the second day with "Apple", one thing leads to another and the girls escape then the movie goes right downhill from there, full of silliness and plot holes like how did the girls get money to buy all that hardware to perform their rape revenge after they had escaped? How did they fail to notice their Fathers car parked in the farm after they killed the first guy?

Pretty Toothless
dcarsonhagy6 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"Even Lambs Have Teeth" is the latest in the never-ending genre of revenge films. It tells a story about two best friends (one who just needs to strap a mattress on her back for convenience) who have decided to work in "nature" at some sort of camp in order to earn money to go shopping in NYC. As it usually turns out, there's something in them thar' woods, and all seems lost.

Face it guys, we've seen this same story about a billion times--only done way better. "Last House on the Left," "Avenged," "I Spit on Your Grave," are just a few that have taken revenge to another level, which is something "Lambs" tried but just couldn't do. Why? A very ineffective and simply unbelievable script. All I could do was snicker when I saw two girls (covered in blood) walk through stores in a very small town without being noticed. The local preacher can be tied to the back of a pickup truck and drug through town--then sat afire-- without being noticed. There are a few (and I mean few) moments of "comedy," but not enough to put a dent in this big old mess.

Rated "R" for some grisly violence, brief nudity, and rape.
