Bringing Out the Big Guns

We are already only 3 episodes from the finale and are now in the home stretch. The show has been consistently good so far and this week was no different. It has done such a good job of referencing Captain America and this universe without overdoing it like Agents of Shield. I really enjoyed seeing some of the members from the 107th regiment back on the screen.

As we get closer to Leviathan, more and more reveals are happening. Dottie, who was shown to be a deadly assassin last week was equally as intense and even creepy this week. Watching her go through Peggy's apartment and tying herself to her bed before sleep revealed a lot. It's the little things they show that end up meaning the most. But this episode highlighted just about everyone's acting. Chad Michael-Murray was especially good as it was the first time we got more than the obnoxious jerk he had been to Peggy. I cant say I believe the hate on Peggy will come to a halt after seeing next weeks preview, but we can enjoy it for now.

Even though there wasn't a clear cut villain to the scenes overseas, it ended up being the best episode of the season so far. All of the character development will pay off later on this season I'm sure and the slow burn for Leviathan will as well. Agent Carter is slowly becoming one of my favorite shows this year.

Waaaaaaahoooooooooooooo! Stop "wahooing" and help!

When I saw that the Howling Commandos were in this episode I thought this was going to be Agent Carter's first filler episode. I'm glad I was wrong because this was a good episode with great action, great twists and great character moments.

I was kind of disappointed that there weren't more Commandos from the First Avenger that appeared but the fact that one of these new ones were killed off kind of relieves me that they weren't in the movie. Still, I'm really happy that Dumb Dumb Dugan was the one to appear because Neal McDonough is amazing. The scenes in Russia were incredible as the action was very well done and it looks like this is the start of the Black Widow program, i.e the Red Room, which would make sense for a female led superhero show.

Major kudos to Chad Michael Murray performance this episode as Jack Thompson. We got a look into his character as he has the title of hero that he can flash around but he knows that that isn't who he really is. It shows more into his dynamic that he froze in combat and that he has this extra layer to him that makes him sympathetic. I also love how he respects Carter more, knowing that she is every bit, and maybe more, that agent that he is.

I also liked how the expanded more on the story back in New York as Sousa discovered that Carter was the mystery woman involved with the case. It evolved naturally and came together easily that it didn't seemed forced in any way. Another great episode that reveals more, solves more and remains complex but not complicated. However, I do wish that Jarvis had more to do other than try and speak upon Howard's behalf.

+ Howling Commandos + Murray's performance + Sousa's discovery + Black Widow? - Have Jarvis do more

Final Score: 9.1/10

[7.6] The entrance and the escape!

A better episode with great cheesy actions, smoother flow, a lurking mystery and a handful of not credible moments. Entering and escaping like that?!

The most stupid of all the series.
KoWMaPuK25 February 2015
Sincere and untroubled idiocy of this series does not fix it. Children chained to their beds? The air smells of fish before the frost? Are you serious?

The plot of the series is born thanks to the severe forms of abuse of drugs and pathetic helplessness creators offer something sane, not pathetic stupidity of the Cold War time early Reagan presidency. Even armored bears and shooting balalaika would not look so foolish against this nonsense.

And even more strange show such nonsense in the Internet era. After all, it is very easy to refute all this and ridicule, showing that the characters are not evil, but the creators of this nonsense very stupid people.
