Mediocre

I know that probably a lot of fans won't agree with me on this one. But I thought this was a mediocre episode. As soon as I saw that the Creaseys were the writers, I knew I won't have a good time watching this. And I was right.

For me the plot was okay, a little cheesy. And I knew that something bad will happen, 'cause it is the mid season finale, and, hey, how can it be without a cliffhanger. And a bad one, of course. And, also, the reason that got Castle "fired" is so lame. I think he did a lot of worse things before, and nothing happened. Another reason why I hate it. And I'm also so sick of these things separating Kate and Rick. Why can't they write something positive, this is getting annoying really. I think that most of the fans think like this.

I hope they get over this quickly and get Castle back in the precinct.

One of the best episodes

Spoiler alert!

Now, this was a damn cool episode. I love this show and I love these season/ hollidays episodes they made in mostly each season, no matter it was about Christmas, Halloween or Thanksgiving Day. I liked the whole Romeo and Juliet story, the mob ties, Castle underground investigation, the omerta and the code of honor, even the ending (although I hope they will quickly find a way of catching the guy who killed the murderous cop and get Castle back in). Esposito and Lanie's fake engagement story was a fun twist and Kevin was amazing in saving them in front of Lanie's parents and I have to say this shows a surprising side of Lanie's character. I mean, we are used to her being a little tougher, sometimes giving sharp answers to Castle's jokes, sometimes cracking a joke and even mocking Kate every once in a while, so her showing this side of her character and getting to know more about her parents is a nice change. All being said, this is by far the best episode from season 7, so far. A full 10 out of 10 from me.
