In the meantime, Hashirama and Madara begin their battle. Like in the past, they use a huge Susanoo vs the wood dragon and the wood humanoid creature. Madara wants to keep Hashirama busy for a time. The surviving shinobis are surprised of their level, and get bummed, thinking there's nothing they can do. Shikamaru asks Ino's help, and gives a speech to encourage them. He tells that maybe now there's nothing to do, but they have to watch carefully, at the right moment, their intervention can be crucial. The shinobis get back on their feet, including Kiba, Shino and others. Temari thinks that Shikamaru could be Hokage, as he managed to raise the people's spirits, being able to do that is a requirement. Hashirama realizes that they are at a similar point that the time he defeated him, but Madara reassures this time will be different. This part was great. For one side, the 2nd, the 4th, Naruto, and Sasuke are dealing with Obito. Hashirama faces his old friend and rival on a big level fight, with good animation. Then, Shikamaru's speech was very well written. It's unsure if there will be a moment, probably not, but he gave them a reason to stay. Or they watch and wait for the right moment to help, or they should leave to a safer place. Was good to see Temari silently praising her future husband, they have shared some story through the years, of friendship and mutual respect, admiration, care.

Tobirama analyzes the situation: he realizes that Minato's arm hasn't returned, and guesses that Obito uses Onmyuton, which nullifies all ninjutsu. This means that he overpowers the Edo Tensei. He asks Minato not to left be attacked again, because the Edo Tensei won't heal him. This implies that Hiruzen won't be back soon. Naruto tries to transform into Kurama, but then his Kyuubi mode disappears. Tobirama observes that both father and son can be funny or fool. Minato says sorry, while Naruto asks Kurama for chakra. The Fox tells him to stay normal for a little longer. Then, Gamakichi throws his acid spit to Obito, who blocks it with the black material. But as Tobirama and Naruto observe, the spit affected the black substance. When Naruto asks, Gamakichi says the summoning time is over, and is forced to disappear, with his blessing. Then, a touching scene comes: Minato shouts at Obito, questioning why he is doing this if his dream was to be Hokage. Obito remembers when he rushed to save Rin, and Zetsu said that Minato was on some other mission. He says that now is late for lectures, and he was always late on important things (referring also to his own accident). He is glad that his sensei became Hokage, because that took away his desire to become one. Minato gets regretful, for not recognizing Obito as the masked man when he attacked Konoha during the Kyuubi incident. If he had stopped him, if he had known, maybe Kushina would be alive, and Naruto wouldn't be the Kyuubi's jinchuriki. And all this wouldn't have happened. Obito teases him for not knowing that was him, that he wasn't so good after all. He says that he died as a hero, but now is showing his son how embarrassing was his life. He adds that the Hokages are pathetic compared to his actual power. Tobirama realizes that Naruto noticed the effect of the spit, and thinks he is not a fool after all. Looks like the natural energy makes effect and can harm Obito for a simple reason. If the Rikudo Sennin created ninjutsu, and was the jinchuriki of the Juubi, it's clear that ninjutsi won't affect him. But senjutsu is different given natural energy, so that is his weakness. Like I said, the nicest scene of the episode was Minato's regret. I don't think he should blame himself, because on that moment, Obito acted really fast, stole baby Naruto appearing from nowhere, and didn't give him time after capturing Kushina and releasing the Kyuubi. Even if he realized during the fight, the Kyuubi was still out there, needing to be sealed again. So, was an impossible situation for him. Anyway, this sensation tells how good and modest is Minato. He accepts his mistakes, and wishes everyday that things could have been different. If he could change the events of that day, and live a happy life with his beloved wife and their son, he'd take the chance any day. That's something haunting him. For that reason, was good to see Naruto defending his father, he proves what he said to his mother, he never blamed them, he loves them from the bottom of his heart. I liked Tobirama's remark, as he noticed the similarities of father and son. Minato too has a funny side, joyful, regarding jutsus. The Nidaime is not so serious after all, he is a great character, more lightful than what he seemed. What I didn't like was the fact that the Edo Tensei doesn't work correctly vs this jinchuriki. It's disappointing to see that Minato will stay without an arm, or that Hiruzen won't return. What a bummer. And so, how did Tobirama return if he was torn in two pieces? I don't get it.
