Jwgrant10021 November 2014
If you haven't watched this episode, i recommend you don't, you will not miss anything

first off this episode is extremely slow and surprisingly boring. I watch this show cause of the excitement, i waited 7 days for this episode and was extremely disappointed.

it was the same thing over and over and over again. i was confused several times in this show(i do not confuse easy) The whole episode was just one big dream!

i give this episode 1 star

i hope it will get better!

don't waste 60 minutes and do yourself a favor skip this episode.

Worst episode EVER...
lefredle21 November 2014
Just when the series was getting better and worthy of interest, this "thing" came...I've just stopped watching the show after... Have you seen 'Edge of Tomorrow' ? This episode is just a "z" class attempt at a rip-off of the very concept behind Edge of Tomorrow. Though, they failed in every respect ! The same scene over and over again with some minor variations... It gets old after 5 minutes. Which lead me to re-consider the reason why I started watching this show in the first place...Guess it was just worthy of interest while waiting for 'The Walking Dead' which has now been back for quite a few weeks...Citizen Z : I'm off for good !

A Long Nightmare
claudio_carvalho25 November 2015
In Utah, Mack and Addy expect to join the rest of the group and they stop by a creek. Addy is tense and disturbed by her daydreams and Mack tries to please her with their first date having dinner together using a few supplies. However Addy sleeps and he decides to rest. But soon he finds that he is trapped in a nightmare with a huge zombie.

The awful "Die Zombie Die... Again" is so far the worst episode of "Z Nation". The tedious story shows in the end that is nothing but a long nightmare of Addy. There is nothing much to say about this terrible show. Better off skip it! My vote is three.

Really not that bad at all!
rraa-dd10 November 2018
I've recently got into Z Nation as I've had enough of what TWD has become, binge watched up to this episode in 2 days and read all these negative reviews, thinking oh dear this will be bad. But it's not. Yes the show up to this point had built up great momentum with some really awesome episodes involving the whole gang, so this one kind of slows things down for obvious reasons. However, I think it was done in a pretty cool way. I think it would have been better to have more character development in an episode containing only 2 characters, but I enjoyed this episode nonetheless. All the 1/10s need to calm down.

What the heck....
KMacBro19 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
That was terrible. First of all, what...?!! What even went on? A dream within a dream within like 4 other dreams between two people? And how is this relevant to the overall story? Seems like a horrible filler episode. And first off, why wouldn't she remember killing her mom??? Secondly, uh, who cares??? Hasn't everyone in the show killed someone they loved? This was so unnecessary, over dramatic and a waste of an episode. Geez. I really enjoyed the previous episode before this one... Probably because neither of those two were in it. Their side love story and her "problems" that aren't anything special are really annoying. I'm not a huge fan of this show and there have been other stupid episodes, but this one wins for the worst.

Skip this one
LankyDouche23 February 2017
I'll keep this short and sweet. This episode is awful in all respects. It does absolutely nothing to advance the story. It exists only to flesh out Addy, and it doesn't even do a good job. Obviously I won't include the spoiler, but "realization" is something the character should have known all along. All in all, this episode was a complete snooze fest. It seems like the writers needed a filler episode, and this was the best they could come up with.

Fleshing out Addy...
ledge196428 May 2015
Unlike the other reviewers,I really enjoyed this episode. I liked the change of pace. We catch up with Mack and Addy after they were separated from the rest of the group. I suppose it's not everybody's cup of tea to take a bit of a time out but it was actually a nice to see some character development - something I was really surprised by. It certainly helped flesh out Addy's character with a revealing look at her back story. I have been really enjoying the series so far and this episode made me more invested in the journey of these people trying to survive. It started as a bit of joke but there has been some seriousness creeping in lately which is not a bad thing. Not for everybody but it sure worked for me!

Too Many Flashbacks
efd-1046721 April 2019
This episode got really boring really quickly, in a nutshell - too many flashbacks, too repetitive, it disappears up it's own bum 10 mins in, avoid.

Definitely one of the better episodes.
deadshyguy15 May 2021
The hate on this episode doesn't make sense. It's a great call back to a classic Twilight Zone episode and just the plot in general was great. Just because this is a "filler" episode, doesn't mean it's not great. Also what's with all of you idiots that gotta hate on this because "you don't care about these characters"? You know nothing at all about the characters anyways because we're only 9 eps into the first season. This episode wasn't just made to give these 2 characters more depth but also show these actor's skills and they were damn good. Underrated af episode.

My favorite episode so far
cherold8 February 2016
I'm pretty shocked at all the hate for this episode, because I absolutely loved it.

First off, in general I like things that mess with your mind, and loop around with variations. I like Charlie Kaufmann, I like the bizarre intersecting story arcs of Doctor Who, I like the multi-arced episodes of Max Headroom that people complained were confusing viewers. So this hits the spot for me.

I also like this episode because it represents what is for me one of the interesting things about Z Nation, which is it fully embraces the trauma. So many action series glide over exactly how traumatic their events are, but this one really gets into how real human beings would respond to an apocalypse. It's weird how rare that is.

I also thought it was beautifully paced, absorbing and ingenious, and I found the ending really intense.

A turn in the road.. with unexpected results!
kbotejara30 August 2015
First of all I'll justify my mark. I'd probably give it an 8 though I'm going with ten to counterbalance the absolutely unfair mark as the result of previous inmature votings.

It's definitely a different episode from what we are used to in this series but works unexpectedly well. Maybe taking an astray step from the zombie killing frenzy puts off those that value this episode as worthless, but I find it quite the opposite. This takes for the first time its time to introduce us the past of one of the characters and helps us empathize with it, what's to be thanked for the series was lacking it for the most part, but it does it without forgetting about tension, zombie threat, and real risk of death. I'd say it actually gets to inccrease it via the whirlwind it drags us into.

Action, emotion and a bold narrative. It's pushing it forward!

Don't waste your time.
box-990465 July 2021
This episode explains why Mack has had very few lines in previous episodes. His acting is terrible and now I'm looking forward to seeing him die so we won't lose more of our life on this garbage. This episode is one of the reasons why I stopped watching the series when it 1st aired.

PS. Addy won't be winning any awards for acting in her life either.

It what is already a poor TV show (somehow watchable though), this was one of the better episodes
cormacobroin11 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was seriously one of the better ones. People so far have had criticisms of it due to the fact that the dream sequence repeats, much in the same way as Edge of Tomorrow. If that is a criticism, then you must also criticize EOT as it is very similar to Groundhog day, which is also similar to Friedrich Nietzsche's The Gay Science. Nothing in Art is fully new, this is not a valid criticism.

The acting from Michael Welch is actually very good (the acting in the show is generally terrible, so this becomes a notable performance) and due to this, it is easily one of the better episodes. Nothing feels forced, in what is clearly a bottle episode. It adds great characterization to a character and makes great use of metaphors.

That being said, it is a miss-able episode, but you don't always want to watch a show just to advance the plot. Especially when the plot of this show pretty bad. You watch this show on an episode by episode basis.

8/10, good episode, but wouldn't watch it again as it isn't that kind of episode. It would be like watching Memento again. Give it a while.

The entire episode is a waste of time just to find out Addy's flashbacks of her first kill. Surprise! It was her mom. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.
