The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast: Michael Landon (1984)
Merlin Olsen, Brian Keith, Don Rickles, Melissa Gilbert, Rich Little, Dick Butkus, Lorne Greene, Bubba Smith, Maureen Murphy, Vic Tayback, Pat Harrington Jr., Dick Shawn, Orson Welles, Norm Crosby and Slappy White are the roasters for this final episode of The Dean Martin Celebrity Roast. As it would turn out, Michael Landon was invited back for his second roast. There's no question that the first roast of Landon was better but for the most part this one here contained enough laughs to make it worth watching. As you'd expect, some of the best moments come from Don Rickles who gets a lot of great jokes off and he has some pretty funny ones aimed at him. The surprise of the show was the act of Bubba Smith and Dick Butkus who actually do a nice and funny job. If you're a fan of the series then there's no doubt taht you'll want to check this one out even though it didn't really send the series off on a high note. It's certainly funny but falls a bit short of being a classic episode.
