Best of them all

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS HERE 'Through A Glass Darkly', in my opinion, is the best episode of both series so far. I think what I particularly like about it is, unlike most of the other episodes, it isn't centred around one specific Musketeer. Each get a fairly equal part in this episode. Ryan Gage as Louis is incredible in this episode. Before we've only seen the king as either a comedic character or a sincere character but here when forced to make so many difficult choices, as he has to, choosing between Anne and the Dauphin or his courtiers and having to chance the death of Constance, we see the character in much more depth with Ryan Gage plays with absolute clarity. Leo Gregory as Marmion was spectacular in the way that his character was mysterious at first, you weren't quite sure what his true intentions were and the story that evolves from that is a moving story. Marc Warren as Rochefort and Howard Charles as Porthos are evenly matched here and the conversation that goes on between the two as they are chained in the cellar is very good. Even the battle of the women here - Alexandra Dowling as Anne and Maimie McCoy as Milady, both vying for the king's attention, Milady trying to muscle her way in and the queen being slightly left on the sidelines. Santiago Cabrera as Aramis is typical Aramis for all that he is my favourite character, thinking of women before himself and almost getting killed for it before rescuing the queen, his son and Charlotte Salt as Marguerite as he has done many times before. Tom Burke as Athos took a backseat in this episode and along with Hugo Speer as Treville wasn't involved in any of the action until the end of the episode, the final rescue. Luke Pasqualino as D'Artagnan really comes into his own in this episode, challenging Marmion and standing up for everyone whilst also trying to prevent Tamla Kari as Constance from dying. Marmion's relationship with brother Robert played by Nathan Wright is also tested in 'Through A Glass Darkly' where they both want to punish the king for making them lose their entire family but Robert believes Marmion has gone too far and ends up stepping in front of D'Artagnan and taking the bullet for him. Overall, a clever, slick episode which was thrilling and tense, the best of what the Musketeers can bring.

King of weenies

This has got to be the most cowardly, reactionary, childish bully, wimp of a king in all of film. What an idiot.
