  • The Governor is pantsed. His underwear is seen.

Violence & Gore

  • Sequences of peril typical of an adventure movie. Swordfights and similar such
  • There are numerous deaths of lesser-characters throughout the movie. Though gruesome, they are comedic in nature.
  • A woman is turned into gold when coming into contact with the Hand of Midas.
  • A man is devoured by a man-eating plant, leaving nothing but bone.
  • Several people are seen exploding into confetti when struck by unicorn horns.
  • A woman disintegrates when coming into contact with a magic field.
  • Two characters get stuck under the thumbnail with a sword, very cringy for anyone who has gotten a sliver under their fingernail before
  • Puss bleeds in a scene. It's just a drop and not gory at all.

Profanity

  • Perrito says "(bleep) for brains" when listing his so-called "names".
  • "Crap" is used twice.
  • Wanting to join in on the fun, Perrito lets out a list of bleeped words that makes the Bear family shocked.
  • Kitty said "this smells like bull-" but Perrito cuts her off.
  • One use of 'hell' in English (What the hell are you talking about?), and one in Spanish
  • EXTRAS: In the feature commentary, there's some mild swears said by the directors.
  • Mild name calling (stupid, weird, and idiot).

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • None, but Puss drinks cream in a bar and requests the "heaviest cream" they have. No alcohol, but the very mild implied reference is there.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Tense scenes with the wolf are common throughout.
  • Though depicted comically, the villainous Jack Horner's extreme ruthlessness and glib disregard for human life may be disturbing to some audiences.
  • This is easily one of DreamWorks Animation's darkest films so far, and also the darkest film in the "Shrek" franchise by a wide margin.
  • The wolf is very frightening and creepy will definitely scare younger audiences.
  • Some mature themes, including loss of life expectancy and retirement.

Violence & Gore

  • Perrito gets a nosebleed attempting to be cute to stop Jack Horner from making his wish.
  • One scene there was a fight, and puss bleeds from his wound. (Not too graphic)
  • Jack Horner is finally defeated when the Wishing Star collapses in on itself, taking Jack with it, and resulting in a huge explosion of stars.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There are multiple scenes involving Puss being and acting very drunk, including a scene where he falls and dies, losing one of his nine lives. Nothing is explicitly stated, but it's very clear that he's drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Goldie, The Bears, the Wolf and Jack Horner can all be very scary and intense at times. The Wolf in particular is very frightening. However, unlike Jack, Goldie and The Bears turn good in the end.
  • Throughout the movie, Wolf, who is also the equivalent of the Grim Reaper, chases down Puss to take his final life. The Wolf makes multiple appearances to scare Puss and may be very frightening to younger audiences.
  • Puss has a panic attack because he has only one life left and to the Wolf chases him. This is very distressing.
  • While puss is talking to his past selves, the wolf appears out of darkness to attack puss. May scare some viewers because of its abruptness
  • Puss has a panic attack during the middle of the movie. It's a pretty realistic depiction of a panic attack, its extremely intense.
