Love the direction of this season

This was a surprisingly suspenseful episode. The actual case was secondary to the mystery behind Castle's disappearance, but I am completely okay with that. I was kind of worried about the direction the series was headed after the season 6 finale, but so far, I love the execution of telling the mystery. The writers are giving tidbits on Castle's disappearance without giving away too much information. The clue that his disappearance has something to do with the "real reason" why he became a mystery writer added an ominous tone to the episode, which I completely loved. The tape that he showed to Kate was really awesome to watch, and I hope that future episodes will continue to add to the excitement behind the mystery.

Yes! Castle's back! This was a great episode, I loved it. It had a good mystery. You know, case of the week, as usual. But what made it great was the interaction between the characters. This episode was written by AWM. And, knowing that, I also knew it was going to be a great episode. And I was right. We got something new about Castle's disappearance, along with a great case. And that's what I call amazing writing. The way it was all put together, without it being rushed. And it had great resolution at the end. But, for me, the best part was near the end. At that building, in Montreal. We found out that Castle asked not to remember, because something horrible happened and he didn't want to remember. I thought that was intriguing, and smart. And I love it even more because of all the fans saying how amnesia is clichéd, and all that stuff. But, this changes everything. And the acting was great in this episode, per usual. Last episode we saw amazing acting from Stana Katic. And now it was time for Nathan to shine. And he did. His acting in that scene in Montreal, near the end of the episode was really amazing!

And, also, one more happy thing. Espo and Lanie are back together! Wohoo!

"Some mysteries aren't meant to be solved"

Warning: Spoilers
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE the new mythology! I love AWM and everything he has done with Castle the past 6 years; also great writing on this episode! Bringing Amann up as the show- runner has proved to work in my opinion.

I liked how they had a case to solve but they wove Castle's mystery in throughout the episode. I loved the father daughter moments and the Beckett/Lanie moments so I hope we see more of that this season! I cannot even imagine all the possibilities of where they could take this new mythology! I never expected them to get married right when he came back because that just wouldn't be them. They have to deal with what's happened get on "solid ground" first.

I love how at the end fake Henry Jenkins told Castle he didn't want to know the true and then showed Castle must have trust him in their time together by bringing up why Castle really became a mystery writer because of a February day in Hollanders Woods when he was 11. Great acting and writing during that scene! Cleared up any nonsense of amnesia that the fans seemed so determined he had. Can't wait to see where this story-line takes us in the future! But for now bring on more cases and a November wedding!

Favorite moments/quotes: Lanie and Espo flirting Gates smooch "Where's Castle?" "I sent him home. He needed a time-out" "What was I doing I Montreal?" "It's Canada, how risky can it be?" "I think I have a crazy theory for you" "Some mysteries aren't meant to be solved"

Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe the people rating this a 10 saw the same episode I did. The critical "Castle's wedding day disappearance" storyline was convoluted and totally implausible. He was abducted, but freed long enough to deposit farewell videos in a bank vault? Given some "miracle" drug that made him cooperative with things too horrifying to remember, but still completely lucid? And amnesia? Please. Either this is B.S., or "not my choice" means "my choice, but not one you'd approve of".

Even the "toy mogul" plot was predictable, but I'm giving it a 4 for the twist involving the makeup artist, a few funny lines and situations, and letting the secondary characters shine.
