Josh meets with his father as Maura for the first time, Josh who tries to be somewhat supportive, but who is struggling with Maura's new chosen life. Josh does some research on his own from sources with who he has easier access. Through it all, he decides to meet with Rabbi Fein, perhaps with ulterior motives closer to his usual modus operandi. Ali uses the fact of Maura to return to school to take Gender Studies at Santa Monica College, the program where Syd has some contacts. There, Ali makes a connection with Dale, a female to male transgendered professor in the program. And Sarah and Tammy have decided to host regular Friday night family dinners at the house, the invitation to Maura and Davina which means that Sarah and Tammy have to discuss with Zack and Ella the fact of what is happening with their grandpa. That dinner may cause a further problem between Sarah and Len beyond the issue of she leaving him for Tammy. Through it all, Maura makes potential deals with each one of her offspring, all three with the caveat that each does not divulge the deal to their siblings.
