While Amy and Karma try to pretend things are how they used to be, they find that their relationship still needs adjustments. As does Amy's relationship with Lauren.

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, tensions flare between Lauren and Amy due to Amy using Lauren as a third wheel, and talking about her being inter-sex around Lauren's minions. Which leads to the topic of being inter-sex slightly explored, but not to the point you feel that Lauren being inter-sex is solely for the sake of presenting Lauren as different or humanizing her. Much less it being a cheap gimmick to create some shallow sense of diversity, which I say mostly due to it remaining a sensitive subject. Now, as for the men of the show, with secrets driving them apart, and a new guy named Theo, Liam and Shane's friendship seems to be going through tough times.

Topic 1: The New Guy In Town – Shane, Liam, and Theo

With Liam still recovering from Karma lying to him, and then Shane hiding he knew the whole time, Liam and Shane are a bit on the rocks. However, despite this, Liam still seems down for playing Frozen dress up with Shane. That is until he meets the new kid Theo. Someone who is masculine, possibly straight, and presents the opportunity to do the kind of stuff Shane doesn't like. Such as go to regular old Texas bars, play pool, and get a few drinks.

However, rather than be ditched for the new guy, Shane decides to come along to the bar and deal with the local Texans, who are nothing like the ones in the high school, who don't take well to Shane's sexuality. In fact, one of them go to fight Shane and while Liam tries to pull him back, Theo jumps in to help. Something Shane appreciates; however, being that Liam is his best friend, he expected him to be the one to have his back. Thing is, Liam isn't over Shane lying to him, at all, and between the lies, and maybe wanting a friend he isn't dressing up with and all that, I think he may use Theo as a more active alternative to Shane. Especially until their relationship recovers.

Topic 2: Let's Have A Sleep Over! – Lauren, Amy & Karma

As Karma and Amy try to adjust their relationship so both parties can be comfortable, naturally there are a few bumps in the road. For whether it is Karma changing in front of Amy, the two of them touching hands, or things of that nature, there is a bit of awkwardness between them. In fact, it gets so bad that Lauren is invited to their sleepover to sort of be a buffer. Thing is, Lauren is highly skeptical of the invite. Especially once Amy and Karma talk, behind her back, that part of the invite dealt more with her being inter-sex, and a sense of pity, than Amy trying to restart things with Lauren since now she is her sister.

So, to get back at them, as they watch Twilight Lauren plays devil advocate with both sides to the point where it is hard to tell if they are debating what is going on in the movie, or what is going on in their personal lives. Then, to up the ante, Lauren's minions are invited to the sleepover and then a game of Truth or Dare commences. Which, at first, isn't all that bad since the first dare is just Lauren drinking this disgusting mixture, which includes Amy's spit. However, when Karma is given a dare and it is to French kiss Amy for 60 seconds, which she opts out of, she is given a Truth question dealing with how was Liam in bed. Something which upsets both Karma and Amy to the point they start asking questions of Lauren which hint to her being inter-sex, of which naturally she retaliated against. And, in the grand scheme of things, while you can understand why Lauren was acting the way she was, it is hard to justify Amy and Karma talking about Lauren being inter-sex, especially knowing how she is barely comfortable with talking about it.

Though despite all that was said, oddly enough Lauren doesn't seem too upset in the morning. I mean, she isn't happy, but she isn't smacking Amy with a frozen waffle. If just because she realizes that sisters fight and while Amy was taking it a bit far, I think Lauren realized it would be better to be the bigger person. Especially since her ammunition, Amy sleeping with Liam, would probably ruin Amy & Karma's friendship to the point of disrepair. And while Lauren certainly was mad in the moment, I think she recognized the damage that could have been done if her minions found out she was inter-sex would be far less than the damage that would have been done if Karma found out Amy slept with Liam.

Leading to the girls to call a truce for the sake of their sisterhood, and Amy to admit that with knowing Lauren is inter-sex, and that humanizing her, she feels closer to her. Something you can tell Lauren isn't all that comfortable with, if just because the only reason she got humanized was because she revealed she was inter-sex. But still, with Lauren feeling safe and comfortable, partly thanks to Amy's words, she lets her minions know she is inter-sex. Something which they don't treat as a big deal, though they do ask questions like if she can have kids.

Making for another episode in which Lauren reminds you of how you can write a would-be villain without making them one note. You give them insecurities, a sense of understanding, and a chance to be human. For, as said in the movie Big Fish: "Most things you consider evil or wicked are simply lonely and lacking in social niceties." Something Lauren certainly was when we first met her in season 1.
