Saul (Bob Odenkirk) mentions how he'd like to take a trip to Belize one day. This is both a reference to Breaking Bad (2008)'s "trip to Belize" meaning someone will be killed and the fact that the actors and producers of Breaking Bad (2008) were offered free trips to Belize by their tourism board to show the country is safe.
The place where Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) and Marco (Mel Rodriguez) hook up after their "can you keep a secret" scam is the same set used as Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul)'s house basement in Breaking Bad (2008) season 1.
In this episode, there are several references to Breaking Bad (2008):
- The scene where a woman finds out Jimmy/Saul (Bob Odenkirk) isn't Kevin Costner. This is a reference to a dialogue Saul had in the episode Abiquiu (2010), where Saul brings up that he once convinced a woman he was Kevin Costner in an attempt to persuade Walter White (Bryan Cranston) that using a laser tag as money laundering makes sense because you can make any story work.
- At the bingo hall, Jimmy/Saul says "B, as in Belize... Beautiful place, so I've heard." This is a reference to Saul's dialogue in the episode "Buried," suggesting that Walter could "send Hank Schrader to Belize," with this being a metaphor to kill Hank (Dean Norris).
- Jimmy/Saul also mentions Georgia O'Keefe at the bingo hall. Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) and Jane Margolis (Krysten Ritter) visit a Georgia O'Keefe-museum in Breaking Bad (2008).
- Marco (Mel Rodriguez)'s ring, which Jimmy/Saul obtains in this episode, is the ring Saul wears during Breaking Bad.
Saul (Bob Odenkirk) says "suddenly I'm Charles Manson?" Bob Odenkirk portrayed Charles Manson several times on The Ben Stiller Show (1992).
During the bingo scene, Jimmy recalls the Chicago Sunroof story referring to his wife, before she was his ex wife... in Breaking Bad he makes a comment about his second ex-wife.
