"Louie" is one of my favorite shows, mainly because of its loose structure. Most episodes are about multiple things. They replace plot with a few different scenarios that of either a tragic, comic, or tragicomic nature.

This episode is among the show's highlights, and is in what seems to be the final season (which is easily one of my favorite seasons of the show, right beyond season one). This episode really expresses the show's structure and tone. Tonally, it's both hilarious and sad. There's moments that were pretty emotional, and even mildly intense, while there's other moments that are laugh out loud funny. But even the laugh out loud funny moments were really dark-and kind of reminded me of something Todd Solondz would make, and he's directed what I believe is the DARKEST comedy of all time, "Happiness" (which I'd highly recommend for anyone who isn't easily disturbed or offended).

Like in any other "Louie" episode, the acting, camera-work, and writing are all excellent, and some of the dialogue stuck out to me as particularly great, and some of the best in the series.

Anyone who appreciates hilarity and drama will find this episode to be a gem!
