Remarkably good episode as expected
PulpPhiction18 March 2015
It's that time of the week again. Better Call Saul time! And as always, Gilligan, Gould, and the crew put together yet another excellent episode. How they do it is beyond me, but every week when Monday rolls around I am thoroughly entertained the whole way through the hour.

I won't spoil anything, but one of the sequences of scenes in this episode is just damn outstanding. You'll know it once you see it. The music, cinematography, and overall vibe of it is truly exceptional.

Thanks once again for putting on a hell of a show for me and millions of others yet again this Monday. Can't wait for next week, and man will it be painful waiting for season two.

Big men give their dream for good cause

What a great episode it was. Better call Saul is getting better with each and every episode like Breaking Bad did. Bob Odenkirk deserves all the credit for portraying the image of an ambulance chaser so perfectly. Jonathan Banks continues being bad ass as always. His character is unfolding, although we have seen his full character in BB, he never gets too old for us.

The writing, directing and acting (so far) are on par with BB. Kudos to the creative cinematography of this show. According to me, it was the most crucial episode for Better Call Saul. Expectations are high after last two fabulous episodes. Waiting for the next episode with lot of excitement.

Bob Odenkirk Is Fire!!
gab-1471224 April 2020
As Better Call Saul grinds itself towards the end of the first season, Vince Gilligan gave us yet another superb episode. How is a prequel series to one of the best shows on television ever is keeping up with that series? It's just the remarkable gift that Gilligan has. The script, the acting, the music-all outstanding. Gilligan really understands the human condition as we see with James McGill in this episode. After last week's emotional episode with Mike, the series goes back to the adventures of McGill and company. This episode is all about Jimmy and his shrewd cleverness. It's also about how he wants to do the right thing, especially in the eyes of Kim Wexler and Chuck McGill. Bob Odenkirk is on his game this episode.

In this episode "Bingo," Jimmy has ideas of starting his law firm and taking Kim away from HMM so they can team up and practice elder law. Jimmy is already looking at offices. Kim has to refuse him because she is all caught up in the Kettleman case. She pleaded a deal with the DA for the Kettlemans to return the money and accept a 16-month prison sentence. They refuse and fire Kim, which causes her to fall from the good graces of HMM. They blackmail Jimmy to become their lawyer, which makes Jimmy hire Mike to solve this issue once and for all. Meanwhile, Chuck is trying to go outside to work on his disease, but all he wants is something to do. When Jimmy brings boxes to his house with a purpose, perhaps he may get his wish.

This is a great episode. I love the team-up between Jimmy and Mike. Together, the duo was able to turn the tables against the Kettlemans in the most satisfying way. Sadly, it also squashes Jimmy's dreams of going out on his own. Whatever happens, nothing will stop Jimmy. He found it very important that he does right by his brother. With his brother, there could be a McGill team in the near future. The episode balances drama and comedy very well. The exit scene from the HMM office with Betsy Kettleman is great! Overall, this is definitely worth a watch!

My Grade: A

Getting better and better!

Vince Gilligan always writes intelligent scripts. There is never a dull moment. There is always something or the other happening of really minute details which made Breaking Bad and this show so good. This episode is funny, witty & intelligent! Humor is so subtle. Like when the Kettlemans are talking about 'Elder Law' or when Saul is talking on the phone in the restroom. Many instances makes this show humorous. I always had faith in this show. Reaching the benchmark of Breaking Bad is tough but I think it'll be one of the very few good dramas that will be airing on television in the future. I would love to see more of Jonathan Banks, he is a great actor and he has proved that in the previous episode 'Five-O'. The actress who plays Betsy Kettleman is too good and her character is so kind of scary. The tone for Better Call Saul is already set. 'Bingo' is just another episode with good story telling, direction and acting.

Great episode
chubbyluve4 June 2015
Great episode however one flaw I believe. When he returned the money to Saul, Saul put his stash back in with the rest without gloves. Wouldn't they test it for finger prints? I guess it makes sense seeming he sprayed the first set of money to get there finger prints on the walls. Overall the episode was great. Wonderful directing from a great director. Having loved the series Breaking Bad I am so glad that he is doing another great series. I do believe the series will last long because it is diving into the darker side of humans and how they work with other people. The scene showing the background between the ex cop and his sons wife was captivating.

Solid

Warning: Spoilers
A top episode again, highly enjoyable and nice to see Mike developing as an aide and supporting character in his own right. The main Kettleman plot evolves in twisty-turny interesting ways, and the whole thing is a solid piece of writing.

No Good Act Goes Unpunished

So here we have Saul, trying so hard to be a high level attorney, having to give up, for the time being, his dreams of a big firm and fancy digs. He has connections to those two idiots, the embezzler and his wife, and they are working in outer space. Mike has been pulled in to help out and we know that some interesting times are ahead for our boy. Saul's weakness is his pique over the big firm that holds his name. At this point, Saul is acting with the utmost integrity. There will be some opportunities. And of course, there is his love interest.

Great episode!
ipoweri26 March 2015
This episode goes back to the root of how Better Call Saul should be like in my opinion and how the two first episode was. A comedy about a "creative" lawyer that have no problem to step a bit over to the illegal side of things. After some episodes between episode 3 and 6 (especially episode 6) showed sign that this show was turning more into a drama/overuse of flashback/Breaking Bad "pre-epilogue"-kind of thing which wouldn't make this show be able to maintain my interest.

So I was really happy for this seventh episode and hope they keep making episodes like this with the focus on the comedy of creative attorney-business :)

Christ, you should see my office.
caballero-1911 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The most powerful thing about the scene between Jimmy and The Kettleman is to observe the true entities of these people, the scene could be named as: Three sad criminals compete to see who is more guilty of their respective crimes.

It's there that for the first time Jimmy exposes and properly accepts his reality as an unsuccessful lawyer, quite the opposite of what his brother and even his friend (his future wife) represent. It's in this episode where we empathize with these petty criminals, each one must have had their reasons for breaking the law but that is not where Better Call Saul explores their conflicts in BINGO, in the series what is really devastating is to observe these People (criminals) deny their nature out of pride and self-sanity.

However, it is "nice" to see Jimmy doing the right thing, he's still not a ruthless criminal and much less passionate as Saul Goodman is, that's why I love this facet of Jimmy, it's so human and relatable.

This Has Always Been My Favourite Of This Season

Warning: Spoilers
It's tragic to have to see Jimmy do the right thing for one of the last times. Yet again another unforgettable scene not only in this season, but the entire show for that matter.

A right kettle of fish
TheCorniestLemur12 August 2022
I can't say that this episode is as emotionally devastating as the previous one, but honestly, some part of me thinks that maybe I prefer the Kettleman's subplot, if only because it's incredibly entertaining watching Saul wiggle his way out of this situation.

I will say that I think the scene of Mike in the Kettleman's house went on for a bit too long, but aside from that, this is pretty much a flawless episode, with some funny dialogue, great pacing, and really nice cinematography.

And good god Betsy is such a Karen holy crap.
