Tom Green As A Dean
shawnblackman25 November 2016
A fraternity has some celebration fireworks accidentally set fire to their house resulting in the dean kicking them out. A year later one of the pledges tries to get them reinstated, but then has only five days to find 15 candidates. Constant sabotages from a rival fraternity doesn't help as they both compete for the same house. Of course all this happens in between lots of sex and parties.

This was a funny one, probably a step up from a National Lampoon offering. Tom Green was funny as the dean in which he plays his usual whacked out self.

There is no life changing moments in this one but just a simple shut your mind off and have a laugh, kind of film.

Not the worst
SnoopyStyle11 December 2017
Charlie Martin, from a long line of frat leaders, is overjoyed as a new pledge to Alpha house. During his first party, he launches fireworks that cause major damage. College dean Kravitz (Tom Green) revokes their charter. Three years later, rival frat Kappa Nu tries to take their house. Charlie has to get the frat reinstated with his two mates to stop the takeover by challenging rival leader AJ to a duel. They win the duel but need 12 more members in a week to get reinstated.

This is very much a standard boobies frat movie. There are lots of boobs and that includes the idiot guys. Actually, the guys are not irredeemable. Most of the college kids are functional and forgettable. Tom Green gets a small role and completely Tom Greens it. He's ridiculous and no longer that funny. This is not the worst of this kind of movie but I can't give this a pass.

Wholeheartedly disappointing and disgusting
chlawler9 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
As a lover of all things Frat, my roommate forced me to watch this film. While there were occasional mediocre jokes, we were both extremely mortified by the end. Not only did this movie's uncomfortable humor come off as it was written for 12 year old boys, but THE MAIN CHARACTER LITERALLY WAS RAPED AND NOBODY CARED. Rape culture is not at all something to take lightly, and this film just set us back 10 years in the progress America has made. I am not sure if was because he was a guy, or that he was still partially conscience, but the antagonist (who also happened to be a hot female) bluntly drugged the main character and then paid for a porn star to have sex with him... which he did not remember or consent to and it was completely written off as a joke. When they did realize he was in fact drugged and raped, although not referred to as that, the most that was done about it was 50 hours of community service for ILLEGAL DRUG DISTRIBUTION, instead of what should have been a felony... Overall, this movie had so much potential and had a few high points, but all in all was morally disturbing.

Amateur and horrible
indiedavid10 August 2019
Everything from the bad voiceover to the amateur acting derails this train from the opening scene. Most people wont notice the bad sound quality and second rate cinematography but it is terrible. Why does Netflix subject us to this garbage???

Rape scenes are not funny and don't belong in comedies
questiontheauthorities2 February 2020
There is no context to glorify rape of unconscious victims; particularly that of a comedy film. Thumbs so far down they're under the table snapping this disc for being approved of and printed by hollywood.

A stupid raunchy comedy
LBarlane2423 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Total Frat Movie is a 2016 teen sex-comedy and I don't think I even need to clarify the premise. There's really nothing in this movie we haven't seen before: a bunch of frat boys have a party with alcohol and, of course, lots of T&A.

Now to be perfectly honest, this wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. A lot of the comedy is hit or miss or just repetitive. But the one scene that crossed the line is when the main character gets drugged, r4ped, and filmed in the process; not to mention, one of the culprits turns out to be a p0rn$tar. What's even worse is that the main character gets VICTIM BLAMED by (one of) his peers in the aftermath!

On the bright side, one of the characters (specifically the love-interest) does confront the girl who instigated this felony and puts the latter in her place, literally and figuratively. George Carlin once said, and I quote, "Can you joke about r4pe? Of course you can! The real question is Can you make it FUNNY?"

Overall, TFM is a stupid raunchy comedy with only a couple redeeming qualities. Oh, and I forgot to mention, TOM GREEN is in this; he plays the dean!

A Good Comedy
theoriginalalen3 December 2018
At first I was a bit sceptical about this film but its a good film with some really funny scenes. Its refreshing to have a film about college that has some funny new concepts unlike any other films about student life.

Total frat movie
mescdds23 September 2016
Just read the reviews… Are you kidding?? Everybody's a movie critic and they should just back off and have some fun.

If you want to go out for a fun night on the town and relax and laugh this is the movie to watch. The cast was great, the girls were beautiful, and it reminded me of the fun we used to have in college. The Dean of the University is hysterical… Couldn't stop laughing at his antics. The cast even looked like they were having a good time filming it.

Guys, get your buddies together and go for a fun night out .

A chill out for those poor reviews. I pity your boring lives.

My guilty pleasure Frat movie, but with one BIG negative
Ingrouille18125 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen this movie so many times now I've lost count. This kind of film makes me wanna open up my own frat in the UK (sucks that we don't have them in the UK). I recently watched Frat Star, another Frat movie from the Gravitas Ventures company, and I'm happy to say they've been perfecting their frat movies.

The film focuses around three friends, Charlie, Billy and "Douche" who, before even spending one day as new fraternity members, cause their fraternity Alpha Xi Gamma to be closed down due to an accidental fire at the celebration. A few years later, through a loophole in the system, they are able to re-instate their fraternity as long as they can find twelve new pledges before the end of Rush Week, all the while fighting back against their ancient rival fraternity, Kappa Nu. Now yes, if you've seen this film, it does have toilet humour, it does have some cheap gags, and there are still scenes in this movie I skip when I watch it.

This movie also has the typical liar reveal in it, and it annoyed me the first time I saw it, but as I kept watching it again, it blended into the plot and I don't mind it anymore. I grew to care about the characters and I want to see them succeed. A lot of the side character will also make you laugh. It's also nice having Tom Green as the Dean of the university, 'Dean Kravitz'. The second Alpha Xi party we get later on is one of the best college parties I've seen in both a Frat movie, and a college movie.

The one BIG negative of the movie is definitely around two thirds through when the main character Charlie gets drugged and raped in order for Kappa Nu to bring down the fraternity again; not defensible at all and this needs to stop in comedy movies, and asking for that needs to stop being viewed as some "buzzkill" type thing by these 'comedy geniuses'. Joking about it is one thing; portraying it onscreen is another.

Overall, If you want a film that sets itself apart from a typical frat movie, this one will definitely stay in your head for a while. I'm giving it a 6 out of 10.

It's really fun for what it is!
ryancorsica20 September 2018
Listen...This is really low budget. So just set all of that aside and get ready for a really fun ride. If you start critiquing every little thing, then you will hate this movie. However, if you are like me and just want to have fun, then look past all of the mistakes and enjoy it for what it is!

I smiled and had such a great time with this movie! Love it!

Laugh out loud funny!
ericbouj23 September 2016
If you miss the fun and outlandish lifestyle of your college days, this movie is for you! From the opening credits, I was taken back to the glory days, scene after scene. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the film, and I wasn't alone...the whole theater was joining in. One of my favorite parts was seeing Tom Green back on the big screen. If you know the Total Frat Move brand, this is a no-brainer for you to check out. It is the perfect embodiment of the brand in movie form, and even reminds you of the classic college films (i.e. Animal House). I definitely recommend checking this movie out, as I guarantee you will find yourself loving every hilarious, raunchy, and memorable moment.

Thank You Netflix !
destroyerwod10 March 2020
I love frat/party movies like this. But sadly it seem to be a dying genre. There was a boom a few years ago with many movies but i taught i seen them all and new ones were not made. Then i saw this ... on Netflix from all places !

Usually i try to watch mostly movies in my native french (dubbed) as i ain't a fan of watching movies in Original English especially if i know they been dubbed but i make exeptions for Martial Arts and crazy comedies like those as they are unlikely to be dubbed (sometimes im lucky to find a version from France, but in Quebec they are not)

Anyway long story short i watched it and i really liked it. Its extremely over the top and also very unrealistic but thats the way i like those crazy juvenile comedies. The likes of American Pie Beta House, 21 and Over and others like that.

It really follow a formula i seen before, so this ain't extremely original but its done well enough to satisfy me. Like i said i really like those frat movies even if often they gravitate around the same thing. I never been to university or such, and even tough i know it ain't as crazy as in the movies, i wish i could had experience frats and those parties myself, wich sadly will never be the case.

So i find escapisim in those and that movie did the job well. I saw at the end it was actually a crowd funded movie, wich is pretty cool.

This was release in 2016, i dunno how it avoid my knowledge since then, but really cmon studios, time to bring back those kind of comedies as im seriously craving more !!
