Rather than sticking to a typical production schedule, the film was instead shot one day per week over a seven month period so that the cast and crew could continue working their "regular" jobs during shooting, and so that money could be raised each week to cover production costs.
The production budget for the entire film was estimated at only $500, which paid for snacks for the cast, gas for transportation, and a minimal amount of props and costuming.
Actress Dayeanne Hutton of Emma Approved (2013) was originally cast as Faye, but was unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts. Amy Bury ended up playing the role - however, the scene was still filmed in Dayeanne's apartment, which she shared with actress Megan Baim who portrayed Jasey Rae.
Autographs in Jasey's autograph book include John Green and Hank Green, David Lynch, Kathy Bates, as well as the bands Emblem 3, The Jonas Brothers, and Faraday.
Marc Wilkinson: plays the Prius driver who gets gas for Jasy Rae's car near the beginning of the film. He is credited as "Prius Hipster".
