The Compromise Cocmpromise
Hitchcoc5 November 2021
The girls get their way and drag Sheldon and Leonard to the Mall to hold their purses while they shop. What happens is an outrageous discussion about how Sheldon is forced to compromise over and over. If you want to hear convoluted, this is the poster child for it. Raj and Leonard end up at a Hindu temple while Raj awaits new from a space probe that is approaching Pluto.

Several good scenes

Warning: Spoilers
However the one scene that cracks me up is in the store after Amy and Penny walk back in to Sheldon and Leonard crying. When they mention it's because they were talking about living arrangements, when Amy yells "are you crazy? You know he's a flight risk!" I lose it every time...

One of the better ones

This episode rises above the average "Big Bang Theory" fun fest not because of outstanding comedy - which it has - but because the writers take a deeper look into the inner characters of Leonard & Sheldon and Raj & Howard. The girls are not ignored and get some of the best comedy of the evening.

It was a welcome change to have Sheldon show emotion that borders on both adult and human.

The best for me was Raj explaining to Howard what religion meant in his own life. That the writers could do this in a non-sectarian and non-dogmatic way is particularly noteworthy. It was a serious effort that was extremely well-played by Kunal Nayyar. The comedy at the end of that scene was particularly well timed.

Carol Ann Susi

As usual I enjoyed the episode and was glad to see the show return after such a long hiatus during the holiday season.

I was, however, rather disappointed in the fact that no mention was made in any way about the loss of Carol Ann Susi who played the voice of Howard's mother.

I assumed they'd work it into the show (understandably this episode may have been filmed prior to her passing) but still no mention even during the credits.

I can only hope that in a forthcoming episode that there will be made mention of this.

Edit: I'm glad to see they got around to honoring her memory and didn't replace her with another voice actor.
