IT WAS FANTASTIC... when it ended!
lucashammar22 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
"Follow me, we're going home". Well I say: "No thank you, because I'm really getting sick and tired of this nonsense". I mean how long is it left of this mind screwing distress?

In the beginning of the first episode of Season 1, it started with real excitement and mystery. But now it's just comically terrible. The acting is getting worse. The script is getting more ridiculous. The cliffhangers will not stop with more and more new crazy mysteries. The people in Chesters Mill is getting less for every episode. If they make 5 seasons, it will be no left in the very end. And why the hell must all the nice people always die instead of Big Jim? He's now worse than the Governor from The Walking Dead.

Well now it's enough! They only have one more chance to save the series. Either it end now with a Season 3 with a big disappointment or they change the concept to make the series better like when it started, because it just pisses me off now.

If I was trapped in the dome, I would go the the end of it and give it the finger.

Hilarious!

I watch only out of idle curiosity about how stupid this can get. It's the logical culmination of DVR series TV - you can skip episodes, DVR and then skip back & forth, fall asleep out of boredom & miss 20 minutes, get up in the middle of a sentence & go to the bathroom - doesn't make any difference, the cheese just rolls on & on, and you don't feel like you missed anything important or interesting. It seems the actors are struggling mightily to stay involved in the 'script' w/o betraying the boredom or panic that they landed in this unreeling piece of cheese. Whenever "the egg" appears, the humiliation reaches a new crescendo. "Big Jim" - where did they get that name? A late John Wayne movie? Tennessee Williams?? -- is the epitome of what's wrong with all this - wide character arcs, mindless reactions, terrible, terrible writing, A fine actor's talents wasted.

BTW - the Dome told me to write this, so don't be hating.

Season Two

When "Under the Dome" premiered in the summer of 2013, I was excited as anyone to see Stephen King's novel come to life. That excitement seemed to have payed off, as the few first episodes were mind-boggling in terms of visuals and atmosphere. Simply put, the show looked like a real winner.

Sadly, I don't know if I've ever seen a show take such a nose-dive. For the last half of Season One and so far into this Second Season, the quality of the plots/characters has descended into an absolute mess. I usually don't like to review an "unfinished product", so to speak, but I became so frustrated with this show that I had to cut ties. The other night, I sat down to watch the third episode of this second season. About 15 minutes in, I thought to myself "why am I watching anymore?". It had become a chore, and that's when I know it is time to hang it up.

Basically, I think what happened to this show is that it made the decision to stray from King's novel. Had they just done a 10-15 episode mini-series and stuck to the events King penned, this show might have really worked. As it is now, though, they are just treading water (and, I would argue, barely staying afloat) and wasting time. The characters are going nowhere, each episode does very little to resolve (or sometimes even reference) the dome mystery, and let's face it...acting was never a strong suit of "Under The Dome".

It pains me to say, as I had such high hopes and excitement for this show, but it is a mess right now. Until the show creators make the decision to narrow the focus and actually start focusing on real issues (not just a "story of the week") approach, it will continue to flounder. I have a feeling, though, that the viewing public will not stick around longer enough to give them that opportunity.

Fuzzy cheesy

Warning: Spoilers
This show had its great moments, however this finale makes me feel sorry for one day of my life spent watching it. Such cheesy plot, first ground swallowing Melanie like in cheapest Ninja movie, then again the tunnel opening underground, then underground exodus, then Big Jim (what a cartoon character) turning into a slash horror serial killer to avenge his babe... So far at least the acting and direction were decent. This episode brought plenty of unconvincing situations. Big Jim brings dying Poline to crater, and no one, including her son and her brother shows no drama on their faces, lines are as thin as can be... Later, she received morphine and is in agony, but her son is taking afternoon walk, her brother is showing no signs of stress...

Out there!

A load of rubbish.
MattBrady09913 October 2014
I have to say that watching Under the dome is like watching print dry.

The story is about a small town of Chester's Mill in Maine, where a massive, transparent, indestructible dome suddenly cuts them off from the rest of the world.

Okay to the people who didn't know, I wasn't such a big fan of the first season of Under the Dome. I Thought it was a dull and pretty bland, and now we got season 2 and guest what... it's even more boring than the first season. The characters this time are even more boring and useless as the first season. The writing in this season is the most uninspiring, lazy and dreadful writing I have seen since True Blood. The only good thing in this show is the acting and Dean Norris. Overall Under the Dome: season 2 is a show that I'm not a big fan off. Other people may like it, but am not one of them."Three more seasons of this rubbish".

Warning: Spoilers
This series just gets more and more absurd. How many times has jim switched personas in this series? He's evil and then he's not so evil and then right back to evil again. And the rest of the characters just go along with it. No matter what he's done so far in this series he has always been forgiven and everyone accepts him back into the fold. Here we are again back to evil jim. How did rebecca not know how jim would react to her killing pauline? And when jim first tried to kill julia why didn't julia just retrace her steps and run outside in the first place? Why run into another room? The widening floor crack in the cave is just ridiculous. It only widens just in time for when the writers want to try to create more suspense. Under the Dome is an example of a bad series that you just have to keep watching to see what laughable thing will happen next.
