The writing of the series makes no sense sometimes. And not only does it not make sense it also is just downright lazy. Like the scene when norri and joe get the detector from hunter and joe and norri are talking about the egg and the way out of the dome and norri gives a highly detailed exposition for phil to hear. That's just lazy. A complete download of info from one character to another just to further the plot. Why would norri tell joe all of these details that joe already knows? It's because as far as the writers are concerned she is not talking to joe, she is talking to Phil, which makes no sense. And why the hell do people keep trusting jim?!
