If barbie saw sam disappear into the darkness in the cave, since he had enough rope to reach the darkness, it never occurred to him to maybe attach an object to the rope and lower it down first? Maybe lower down a mouse until it disappears and try to pull it back up? Instead his first thought is that he should go down into the unknown darkness himself? Also Pauline's story about the dome makes no sense. She thought the dome was coming down on her and didn't want to trap her family so she moved to a big city so the dome could come down on a larger number of people? Why not buy a yacht and move out to the middle of the ocean? Or buy and rv and find land out in the middle of nowhere?
