Get in the Van and Pick Up Kids
Hitchcoc3 November 2021
For the doubters, it's awfully hard to be fresh and new every week with a sitcom. The characters are relatively static and so the situations need to dictate; but where do you go beyond personal relationships. In a crime show, the case is the focus and the characters revolve around it. This one is funny because with Emily coming in, we see Raj being an idiot instead of hopelessly depressed. The thought of buying the comic book store give impetus to something new. Sheldon's lack of basic social parameters is pretty funny. The Penny versus Emily thing could get tired really fast. But it worked nicely and Stuart and Mom are still out there for Howard to grouse over.

What happened to The Big Bang Theory?
szerencsegames8 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS!

No. Like seriously. What happened to the show I used to love so much which is now only a part of itself and only has some occasional jokes but even that rarely happens anymore; and the writers dare to still call it a 'comedy'. I understand the character development that every show has to go through at some point, but I don't understand why they have to make the characters more serious and sort of more grown up. This episode was again just really not funny. That 'van joke' was ridiculously awful; possibly the only factor that has saved this episode from becoming worse than ep.#3 is the performance of the cast, mainly Jim Parsons. But still... this is not good enough. However, I am still going to hope for the best for the remaining 20 episodes this season. My rating:

7.2

"The Hook-up Reverberation" was a fine ep of "The Big Bang Theory"
tavm11 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This ep of "The Big Bang Theory" in a nutshell: Emily finally meets Sheldon & Amy and Leonard & Penny. Penny senses a bad vibe from Emily. She later finds out why from her-Ems knows about Penny and Raj's previous time in bed together. Meanwhile, after shopping in the only comic store nearby which has loud music and a brick wall none of them can stand, the guys decide to invest in Stuart's new comic store and they consult their partners beforehand. When Howard and Bernadette discuss it with Stuart, Stuart reveals Debbie (Howard's mom) has already agreed to invest upsetting Howard who, after all, is her son! Okay, this ep was much better then the previous three this season especially when the focus is on Emily, Penny, and Raj. Love Raj's responses at the end during that conversation. So on that note, "The Hook-up Reverberation" was a fine ep of "The Big Bang Theory". P.S. Chuck Lorre claimed on the vanity card of this ep that this would be his last one but I've found out he wrote another one afterward.

The Battle of the Bubbals
Williamgold2478 October 2014
The main focus of this episode was supposed to be the origins of another cat fight between Emily and Raj's imaginary Ex, Penny. However, I found that the far more interesting dust up is between the two Bubblahs, Howard and Stuart. Howard is feeling rejected because his mother is treating Stuart like the son she never had. This relationship is like a pressure cooker waiting to explode and I can only imagine the hilarious results once it occurs.

The guys intention to invest in a comic book store is a two-fold of comedy gold. It was just hysterical watching the guys come up with different plans for attracting kids to the comic book store without having a clue except for Leonard about the Creepy Candy coating around their plan. The other side was that it was so funny to watch the guys to have to consult with their various spouses.

Once again, I was kind of disappointed that the show recycled the old girlfriend hating Penny story line aka Priya. I would have found it so more satisfying if Raj had confessed that he had feelings previously for Bernadette.she would have been a more formidable romantic rival for Emily. Overall, an amazing episode with laughs from beginning to end.

It's very good

Well, I really don't understand why is so much nagging about quality of the season eight. Maybe I am too big fan of this show, but I found quality of season 8 is pretty high, and there are enough opportunities for me to laugh. I still like all the characters, they are growing, they are funny, and I love them all. I especially don't understand average rating of lousy 7,1 for episode 3. It was quite funny episode. I guess thе problem is in too high hopes among viewers. Come on, guys, it's just TV show. Don't expect timeless comedy like "Some Like It Hot" in each episode. Otherwise, it's no wonder that you will be disappointed. I looking forward for future episodes.

Full of gags and comes with a BIG BANG.
lucky-coolu27 October 2014
After three disappointing episodes, I started to feel that The Big Bang Theory has lost its charm and the ability to keep the audience enthralled to that particular point which has been set by it in the previous seasons. But I am glad to acknowledge that after watching this particular episode it makes me eager to look forward to upcoming episodes. The episode contains many scenes where there will be bursts of laughter and Sheldon surely continues to amuse the audience. Faith in the ability of the season have restored. There was a time when I would specially return from work to watch the season. But I felt that first three episodes should face criticism. Big bang theory has such a large followers...that makes it famous and also center of conversation and criticism.

The 2 star rating is bcuz of Stuart Bloom.
nlk8715 October 2022
It ANGERS me, just COMPLETELY INFURIATING, that Stuart takes advantage of Howard's mom's loneliness & vulnerability & tries to replace Howard.

He lives there rent free, & doesn't have to pay a single dime, & then gets thousands & thousands of dollars for free..!!! I just can't bare to watch his scenes.

The character of Stuart Bloom is a fake & fictional character that TRULY gets under my skin. It's baffling how I can hate some 1 so much that doesn't exist.

I have decided to write a review each episode I just CAN'T STAND bcuz of Kevin Sussman's character, "Stuart." I really really can't watch how he mooch's off of every single main character, the things he says truly annoys me. Some feel "sorry" for his character, but me no way. I just don't understand why the writers wrote his character this way. Throughout the series he claims to be so broke, but he still can afford to keep the comic book store open, & can afford hospital bills, pills, & therapy... Instead of abusing his customers hospitality, sell the store & get a job.. Stuart's character isn't funny at all. I just really can't stand him so much I fast forward the scenes he's mooching & just plain talking at all...
