Frank drives a pop star
Tweekums22 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This episode opens with Frank driving singer Ferrara McIntyre away from an engagement; they are pursued by a group of paparazzi on motorbikes. Just as it looks as though he has lost them it becomes apparent that there is still one chasing them… but this one isn't shooting with a camera! It isn't obvious who is behind the attempt on Ferrara's life; protesters have being picketing her concerts because she had given a private performance for the son of a deposed African dictator but they don't seem the sort to resort to murder. Another attempt is made on her life at her next concert; this time the attacker injects her with poison; luckily Frank retrieves the poison after a fight with the attacker and doctors can quickly identify it and cure her. Against advice she is determined to complete her tour. Rather than stopping at the five star hotel she is used to Frank insists they stop at a remote farmhouse B&B where she is unknown… the assassins shouldn't be able to find them there; assuming she has followed the instructions about leaving her mobile phone behind.

The car chase at the beginning gets this episode off to a good start; it is exciting and serves to introduce us to Ferrara. As the episode progresses there is plenty of action as Frank fights the attackers, including on one scene featuring a fight high above the stage Ferrara is performing on. When the person behind the attacks is identified it isn't a total surprise but that doesn't matter much in a show that is more about the action than the mystery. The cast do a solid enough job; Antonia Thomas is good as singer Ferrara McIntyre… although it is a pity her character swore so much as there is little else to offend in this episode. Overall though it was a pretty good episode with a good story and impressive action.
