The Perfect Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I just binged the whole show and this episode was truly a stand out. Ron Swanson is by far my favourite character from the show and his relationship with Leslie is just beautiful. When they were not talking at the start of season 7 I wanted to start to cry, and to see the feud not just resolved but uncovered was just so satisfying. The ending of this episode was especially touching. Leslie and Ron just seemed like such companions and I loved the reverse line of "People are idiots Ron." This was the best episode of one of the greatest shows ever. This episode will go down as one of the greatest episodes of television.

Favourite episode!

Damn that had me in tears. I've been struggling to dislike Ron in the last few episodes as he's one of my favourites all the way through. The show needed this episode!

Perfect!

Warning: Spoilers
Don't listen to what Mr-Fusion is saying in his review. This episode absolutely nails it with the acting and writing. The conflict that had arisen between these two former workplace proximity associates feels very organic and something that could have really happened between them. It would have felt a bit jarring for them to have had such a huge falling out for some ideological reason considering they have been at odds multiple times throughtout the show professionally with their very opposing political ideologies. Instead it's very rooted in human mistakes and misunderstandings that leads to a very emotionally satisfying episode. The musical montage with Willie Nelson's "Buddy" will make you cry big time if you hadn't up until that point.

In conlusion this is one of the best episodes Parks and Rec has had to offer. It's up there with Leslie and Ben, One Last Ride and Moving up.

One of the best episodes in the series.

Warning: Spoilers
Michael Schur, Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler did a magnificant job here. This bottle episode invoked rich emotion from the two leads and displayed their powerful and fun relationship over the past 7 seasons. A real delight to watch.

Ron stole the show
jamesrmew1 December 2021
This episode shows just how much skill and talent went into this show. The entire show is incredibly witty throughout, comically brilliant in places, but not too smart for a fart joke here and there. In this episode it was beautiful how they revealed the vunerable side of Ron, and how this time he really put himself out there. You catch a glimpse, through a crack in his near bomb-proof tough exterior, into a sentimal, soft and caring heart.

The dichotomy of Ron.

Warning: Spoilers
The previous six seasons presents viewers with the ever-evolving and special relationship between Ron and Leslie. When we enter season seven to be in horror at Ron and Leslie being each others enemies, an episode like this couldn't have been written better to resolve their issue.

An ode to their relationship with them figuring out what happened between them in their old Parks and Rec office, we see Ron in the most human form. The viewer is reminded even the giants among us want what we all fundamentally want, to be human, to be loved, to be be among those we love the most. Ron wanted this, but when his macho-man guise finally loosened up to allow him, the cruel world he built himself up to protect himself against let him down. With joy we watched old wounds heal in this episode.

I don't think there's much to say about this one... The moment when Ron waits for Leslie at the restaurant but she never shows up was hauntingly beautiful. Amazing writing and acting.

One of the greats

This episode just flows perfectly with an amazing storyline. It is, in my opinion, one of the greatest episodes of television in a long while, and makes me far too emotional (mostly happy) when I watch it.

Where are the triplets???
glizze15 May 2020
Of course I don't expect the triplets to be an y part of the show however this episode just annoys me. These two have three babies at home yet they seem to have all the time in the world to hang out in City Hall early evening chitchatting. They never speak of a nanny, which I doubt one would do for three babies. They each work all day and still have time to chitchat on the bench in the hallway during early evening hours. In the past four episodes of the season and neither of them seem to be in a rush to get home we never see them taking care of any babies. Even when they're shown at home they're just chilling on the couch I mean come on this is so unbelievably ridiculous! I also love how they're never tired and in this episode Ben is going to stay in his office all night if he has to well Leslie and Ron are supposed to be making up? Oh right and Leslie is the mother so she'll be staying there too... Again no reference to the babies. It's hard enough to raise one child with two parents working full-time it's a whole other ball game when you've got triplets that according to these past four episodes seem to just take care of themselves. Particularly in this episode one cannot even argue that someone from the team is babysitting Considering they are all at City Hall.

I just think it's a little bit irresponsible to portray this married working couple that not only go through the major life change of starting a family but having triplets yet these past few episodes show no change in their lives whatsoever. I imagine anyone watching this show that has had at least one child would get annoyed by this point at all the time these two seem to have away from home.

Well, at least it's finally resolved.
Mr-Fusion23 August 2017
Four episodes in, and we finally(!) get the writers' reasoning for the inexplicable Ron/Leslie acrimony . . . in the form of a contentious info dump. That there was ever such a feud to begin with is ridiculous given their hard-won friendship. But it's a far worse reason for putting their friendship under the microscope. Worst of all, neither Offerman nor Poehler has decent material to work with here. It's not funny, it's forced and it's a far cry from "Parks" as we know it.

Thank god they made up!

Warning: Spoilers
I was so upset to see Leslie and Ron were fighting and that they supposedly now hated each other. This episode explains everything.

It is bittersweet that we see the characters end up leaving their old office. It is quite realistic as co-workers are always coming and going. It made me feel at peace in a way.

Leslie stood Ron up mistakenly in 2014 after Ron came up to the third floor and they agreed to meet the next day. He waited at JJ's Diner. On the other hand, Leslie was angry that Ron bulldozed the residential area next to the former pit which includes Ann's old house. Ron basically undid Leslie's work she did for years.

Communication is key and Ron is a quiet man. He doesn't speak unless he has to. Leslie needs to calm down and speak with Ron about the why's. Great episode of lessons.
