Beavers!!!
planktonrules2 January 2015
This episode of "Nature" is all about the humble beaver and their importance to the ecosystem. And, it's surprisingly enjoyable and well worth seeing. I could see children, adults and even biologists having a darned good time watching this show.

Much of the show is, naturally, about the benefits of having beavers in the wild. However, what I really liked was seeing all the wonderful footage of these wonderful creatures--such as showing them with humans who are fostering them as well as a beaver-cam inside the den to show the creatures in their natural environment. Very thorough, very engaging and, most importantly, totally adorable! Additionally, it's well made and won't bore anyone.

Beavers - The Eco-Friendly, Master Builders

When it comes to the likes of beavers - I'd say that the old, familiar expression "As busy as a beaver" fits this species of semi-aquatic rodent to an absolute "T". (Man, these guys are the busiest bunch of critters that you're ever gonna see!)

From all across Canada, and into the USA, beavers (who are expert engineers) can be found actively building their signature dams (in the wild) on many rivers and streams. Using their powerful front teeth like saws, beavers can cut down a sizable tree in no time flat.

"Leave It To Beavers" is a very entertaining, insightful and informative nature-documentary that gives the viewer a clear understanding of these awesome creatures through interviews with Biologists and Wildlife Rehabilitators.

Even if you're not an ecologically-minded person, I suggest you take the time to view this 54-minute program, showcasing the beaver, Canada's national symbol. If nothing else, it's sure to get you thinking that we, as humans, really do owe the beaver a bit of space.
